Let's talk about what we want to talk about. Let's talk about the releases, which are kind of wild. The WWE releases this week, um, yeah, so notables Braun, strowman, dakota.

Speaker 1That was a surprising one for me, and Clay Was Eddie Thorpe. Braun Strowman is a little bit surprising, but I do want to say that I get the Braun Strowman thing. You know how I feel about him. I like him, but every time you see him You're like dude. He barely moves. He really can't keep up in new WWE. Yeah, but I was only upset about it because he put so many people over. Yeah, he did, but they also signed Omos. Right, they re-signed Omos, so they don't want two of the same dude.

Speaker 3Here's the thing, okay, rusev's gimmick, not Rusev. Hold on Back up what Von Stolman's gimmick he had. He was taking up for the undercard people that were having injustices done to them, and isn't that kind of the thing they're doing with Rusev? Since Rusev came back, no, where he's like yesterday.
Speaker 3I looked at the promo. He done a promo where he said I was released and I didn't have the chance to fulfill what I wanted to feel, so I want to help the undercard people to be more noticed and stuff. That's what he said he wanted to do and he wanted to take it for the injustice of the redundant people. That's kind of what they were doing with Braun, but now Russo's back and he's doing it.
Speaker 4I noticed that, but that promo really doesn't make sense. When he squashed Alpha.
Speaker 1And, let's face it, that was the last ride nascar um, let's face it, uh, what's his name's gonna come back soon when he comes back from his leg disappearing. Uh, the other big guy tsunami, oh, oh bronson bronson.
Speaker 4Yeah, I just meant. I know I get the promo, but like his debut was squashing uh oh yeah, what are they called now? They're not alpha academy, alpha babes, alpha babes. He squashed the alpha babes and they're undercards. So, like you, you squash two undercarters and then you cut a promo saying I want to help the undercarters what were you saying, though, right?

Speaker 3But it kind of felt like the same thing that they were doing with Braun, where he was taking up the people.
Speaker 1Well, I think they're very similar. That's the problem, and also Omos. Like I said, all those guys are so similar and it's also not the style WWE is doing.
Speaker 4If you're not paying attention, they're definitely doing luchador stuff. The only difference is Rusev is going to be a lot faster than both Omos and Strowman.
Speaker 1Rusev looks good. He looks better than he did when he was a kid. He looks a completely different person.
Speaker 4He looks better than he did as Miro. He got his wife back, right, right.
Speaker 1Clay, how do you feel about the releases? Meh? Clay, how do you feel about the releases? Meh? I agree with some of them, but on the Eddie Thorpe, that's my biggest. That was me, me and you are Eddie Thorpe guys. Yeah, I was really surprised by that. He had the North American title like two weeks ago, yeah, but I think there was some controversy, like he didn't actually want to drop the title. I think I read that somewhere that he didn't actually want to lose the title and he was mad about it, so maybe that happened, because that's surprising?
Speaker 4yeah, maybe, but anyway, those are dakota kai. Immediately, um, immediately, like trashed everybody and then, no, not dakota kai. Oh, core jade, core jade. She immediately trashed everybody and then announced she was going to only fans yeah, her only fans.
Speaker 1Yeah, don't at me dakota kai getting released too. This is wild.
Speaker 4Yeah, I was shocked for that one. I know she couldn't stay healthy, but it wasn't her fault. She couldn't stay healthy because you had three horrible wrestlers.
Speaker 1She smells like AEW yeah 100%. To put her in AEW. Feud her with Sasha. I'll watch it. Yeah, she'll be good, like I've watched that dakota kai. If you put a title on dakota kai she, she will immediately be the best female wrestler in aw yeah, well there, there's just gonna be, no more um what's the group she was in oh, damage control, yeah. No, well, oscar's hurt too, I mean, I guess, oscar I don't know what's going on with her bro, she's, she's went crazy, that's crazy.
Speaker 1That's where we're at too. I said there's so many noticeable absences lately. Asuka is nowhere, shinsuke's nowhere. I know people are getting time off, but these are people who didn't get to do anything before Mania. Why, at six, dude? What are we doing?
Speaker 4It makes it even worse now because uh smackdown, because the whole story was like alexis bliss isn't coming back to wrestle again until the white six are all healthy and it's gonna be a storyline. That's when you're going next time you see her out. Well then, they just killed that and they put her in as a surprise tag team partner for somebody on. Smackdown oh yeah, and I was like what the hell? They've done that twice. It's not no storyline, no gimmick, no aura for her. She just comes out as a surprise to help.

Backlash PPV Feels Like RAW

He was in the ring and Miz was down, knocked out, and then all of a sudden he did that smooth just turn around and went right into the crisscross applesauce and he was staring right at Melo who was sneaking into the ring.
Speaker 1I like that he's still selling the eye injury. Yeah, like he's still selling his eye being hurt. You know about that Good stuff, the him wearing that. Like that one contact the one contact was was it rowan? Did it? Yes, eric rowan put his eye into the corner of steps and that was supposed to be like he. They wrote him off for an injury and that's the last time anybody seen him. They wrote him off for an injury.
Speaker 1It carried over to aw yeah, and it was that like his face into his eye, into that that step and it like messed his eye up and so they sent him to and then he went to AEW later and he still wore that contact in AEW.
Speaker 4He actually wore face paint too, so like where he shaved his head like it would have like tendrils hanging on going through his head. But yeah, they're hinting to him and Melo, like Melo, backed off of him. I like that, so I think that'd be good. You good there, clay.

Speaker 1The funny thing is those two are the white guys in the group yeah, right, yeah, that promo they had the other day or last week on raw, oh well, it's so, it's gonna be so good and and paul just speaking for paul speaking for braun, just is gonna make it great yeah, and then paul's cracking me up with like rubbing his back and stuff and be like it's okay yeah, no. And then braun doing the, doing the breaker math yeah, breaker math's great I love it.
Speaker 3What do you think about? It wayne I love it. I immediately went into building the faction mode, like I think everybody did, stable and and I well, yeah, I want there to be more, but I think it's fine if it's just a three. I think it works.

Breaking Down Intercontinental Matches
Speaker 4Of course, I think the storylines are going to be great this year, but I think this is going to be a lower year for us.

When Jacob went for the pin Like for the win for the pin, like for the win for the finish he turned so his face could be facing the hard cam when he got the pin instead of just the way he was and I was like that's such good ring presence, it is good.

Yeah and right and um, I mean there's, there's man there, you know there's dentists, bro, like isaac yanker, isaac yankham, gobbly gooker that wasn't real, though, turns out.
Speaker 1But but brutus the barber beefcake was real and he literally carried a huge pair of shears. Speaker 1Yeah, I agree with you. I think it feels forced. I don't understand why that match was on a pay-per-view. I know it's the title match. I guess everybody needs a buyout. So you had to have a women's singles title match, so that makes sense it could have been better the finish was so weird, the double pin reversal, nobody doing a finisher.
