Work Or Shoot?: A Wrestling Podcast
Real Americans and Fake Injuries
The wrestling world was rocked this week by the passing of Hulk Hogan, and the Work or Shoot Podcast hosts deliver a raw, unfiltered conversation about the Hulkster's complicated legacy. Wrestling fans will appreciate the honest discussion about separating Hogan's undeniable impact on the business from his controversial personal life, exploring how he blazed trails for wrestlers like The Rock and John Cena to transition to Hollywood careers.
Heavy D shares a fascinating firsthand account of visiting the Hulk Hogan Shop just before the icon's death, describing everything from the memorabilia (including original WWF Smoking Skull belt and Andre the Giant's trunks) to the eye-popping prices for autographed items. Through colorful descriptions and personal reactions, listeners get to experience this wrestling time capsule without the $400 price tag for a signed weight belt.
The podcast delivers expert analysis on Seth Rollins' injury status ahead of SummerSlam, with both hosts concluding it's likely legitimate based on recent footage. Their excitement builds as they break down the newly announced 12-man TLC match, connecting dots between WWE's booking decisions and recent developments in AEW and TNA involving legendary tag teams. The hosts offer passionate predictions for SummerSlam outcomes, debating potential heel turns, surprise appearances, and where several major storylines might be heading.
Beyond the matches, the conversation explores fascinating wrestling history, from Michael Cole standing up to Vince McMahon when others wouldn't, to how certain figures survive and thrive in the business. The hosts' genuine enthusiasm for upcoming wrestling figure releases adds another dimension for collectors and fans.

RING THE DAMN BELL
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, showing Color Productions proudly brings to you the greatest wrestling podcast in the world Claybo Wes and I'm Heavy D the Work or Shoot Podcast. If you don't like that, we got two words for you. Welcome back. I knew what you were going to do.
Speaker 2:I had to beat you to it. This is the Wookiee man podcast.
Speaker 1:You know what I'm saying? It's a real American podcast.
Speaker 2:Rip.
Speaker 1:Rip Legend, regardless how you feel about him, everything he did for the sport. What are you going to say, clay? You always got to smile about it. You got stuff to say and you always gotta smile about it. You got stuff to say and you're not gonna say it. No, it's just unreal, yeah it's unreal.
Speaker 2:Clay's literally been listening to Real American all day all day yesterday it was just Real American and all day today, and all day today, I I'm a real American.
Speaker 1:And all day today I've been watching greatest matches streaming on WB Vault YouTube. There's Warrior. This match sucks actually.
Speaker 2:This match is bad. Yeah, Colt took it hard. It kind of was funny, though, because after he found out. His mom called, talked to him and he was like Mom.
Speaker 3:She said what, what?
Speaker 2:Hulk Hogan died and she said I know, honey, and then he went heart attack. And she said he went mom, and she said what? And he went it's sad you need to cry, mom, yeah he was really upset about it that she wasn't upset as he was, but really funny it was, though, when he couldn't figure out what a heart attack was and he was like what happened to him? And luke kept saying he had a heart attack. He went who?
Speaker 1:attacked him.
Speaker 2:Heart owen heart, oh oh gosh, I think that's really what he was thinking, though, yeah, that's the only heart he knows that. Definitely thought brett hart was attacking yeah, he kept saying who attacked him I can see that.
Speaker 1:I can see him doing that and then, um, it might be your fault because you went to the hogan shop the day before he died, right, yeah?
Speaker 2:and refused to buy anything signed yeah, refused to buy anything signed I wanted to, I just didn't have the money. If I want it was like get buy something signed, but if you do, then you can't stay four more days right.
Speaker 1:Was it the day before or the day before?
Speaker 2:the day before they closed um, the day of yeah like when. When it happened, they immediately like, pushed, like, pushed everybody out and closed.
Speaker 1:As soon as they found out, please. That's just confusing to me why they would close unless it was family.
Speaker 2:That's what I was going to say. Was the guy that I talked to that was running the place. He was not from around here, like he was straight up from Tampa Bay.
Speaker 1:Work or shoot Hogan's dead. I just feel like.
Speaker 2:You know what he got mad? He got mad because everybody was talking about the other Hall of Famer that died and he said, no, he's getting too much attention.
Speaker 1:Yeah, ozzy, we had two WWE Hall of Famers die this week he said no, brother. I believe that I can see that happening. We're a week out from SummerSlam too, so Worker Shoot Seth. Rollins injury Re-evaluation. Re-evaluation of the Worker Shoot Seth Rollins injury.
Speaker 2:Wes you go, so I can. I'm reevaluating. I think it is not a work, I think it's a shoot, because there is everyone's a master at their craft and there's only so much you can do to act like you're hurt, but the man ain't going to go out of his way. And there's only so much you can do to act like you're hurt, but the man ain't going to go out of his way.
Speaker 2:To be dressed incognito, so people won't realize who he is and walk his daughter down the street with a boot on and shit.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's true. Yeah, it feels less fake especially since they pretty much incorporated the tag match she was getting away from him and he was trying his best.
Speaker 2:I was like no, if he really was thinking his daughter was in danger, he'd be kind of putting weight on it or something trying to get up with her.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but maybe he's going to be better by Saturday. I don't think he'll be better by Saturday, but like I said before, let's say, the match that's on, that we're watching currently, of Hogan is SummerSlam. Yeah, it's SummerSlam with Sergeant Slaughter. Yeah, it's Sergeant Slaughter. And.
Speaker 2:Iron.
Speaker 1:Cheek, iron Cheek, but it's when Iron Cheek was in Sergeant Slaughter's faction. He wasn't going by Iron Cheek. I can't remember what his name was, but he was General something.
Speaker 3:And then Special Guest Referee yeah and Sid Vicious.
Speaker 1:Special Guest Referee Hogan and Warrior and Macho.
Speaker 2:Can't see yeah.
Speaker 1:I don't know Whatever this summer's, so much yeah.
Speaker 2:Out of all these wrestlers? Why is Jesus did you Out of all these wrestlers? Why is Jesus? Did you see that Sergeant Slaughter Never was in shape?
Speaker 1:Never was in shape and he outlasted them all. Look at him.
Speaker 3:No, he's alive.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he looks like your uncle. I'm not even specifically saying anybody, he just looks like an uncle, we're talking about wrestling, not what he looks like your uncle.
Speaker 2:I'm not even specifically saying anybody, he just looks like an uncle. Yeah, he just looks like your uncle. Back to the. What are you saying, sergeant? We're talking about wrestling. Well, yeah, I know, but Not what.
Speaker 1:SummerSlam. That's SummerSlam. Yeah, but what do you think? Now I'm starting to think it's a shoot. Yeah, because I did see that video. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:Like if your dad was hurt or not hurt and you were little and you were kind of getting away from your dad, would totally put pressure on that knee.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I would find you know you have to get to you. Yeah, but he was not. Yeah, I still think KO's injury is fake, so Literally had surgery, my bad.
Speaker 2:So, but I still think he could cash in. I know maybe he's not hurt that bad um. So one thing that my oldest pointed out. I don't know if anybody else saw it, but someone posted something about braun bronson bronson reed bronson breaker holding the money in the bank briefcase and the hashtag or something was like tsunami in the bank. Anybody else see that?
Speaker 2:pass it on to him I don't know, but he was holding it well, that's not the way that works I know, but luke showed it to me and he was like this makes no sense, but it's really cool that you know. Yeah, like the caption was tsunami in the bank, well, and he's been holding it.
Speaker 1:He's been coming out without seth and holding it yeah, but I don't think it feels like if they did that they'd have to give it to, or whoever was second. No, it was like la night or something right.
Speaker 2:I just thought it was cool yeah, it'd be.
Speaker 1:I mean it'd be awesome. You know, I felt like ron, so I love ron.
Speaker 2:So maybe he's gonna hold it and then cash it in and beat somebody up, do the baby bird on someone and then, like fall says it's gonna come out with one leg and pin him real quick maybe I could see that.
Speaker 1:I could see that being a thing and then he just disappears also, thank you, fantasy booking. Yeah, yes, I'm being a mark, so I need to talk about something that happened this week. That was the biggest thing that happened in wrestling for me other than Hogan dying. San Diego Comic Con figures all getting announced and me like looking forward at my looking forward to how much money I'm going to spend this coming year on wrestling figures you know how many times I almost wrecked just looking at twitter.
Speaker 2:It was all the everything you were sending me, yeah, and I kept like driving, like wherever we were going during vacation, and I was like look look at this, look at this, look everybody look at this, look at this toy.
Speaker 1:Yeah, um, yeah, it was too much. It was too much. I can't, I can't pay attention to that much stuff. That's there's still, there's still stuff coming out we got sting three pack the sting three pack, the stinger three pack and we got some new content coming to the fop um yeah, tick tock and stuff me and dad unboxed some stuff yeah me and clay unboxed some stuff. Yeah, me and Clay unboxed, we aggressively unboxed probably 30 figures.
Speaker 3:And I had a hole in my glove. You had a hole in your glove.
Speaker 1:His hands are too big for latex gloves. Oh, dude, we had to protect the figures, we had to wear latex gloves.
Speaker 2:Did your dad tell you what me and Luke found two days ago?
Speaker 3:Mm-mm.
Speaker 2:AEW Kill Switch, kill Switch.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think you did, did you. I think, so no, you were with me when I was talking to him.
Speaker 2:That's what happened, I think the black gear with the silver mask.
Speaker 1:That's super cool. Formerly known as Luchasaurus. Also is he retired.
Speaker 2:I don't know still I don't know Still.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, they say cause he was hurt forever, but he almost died.
Speaker 2:It's been a W talk. He almost died, but he came out of it, Not like Hogan Um.
Speaker 1:SummerSlam yeah, a week away. Yeah, two night event First two night SummerSlam yeah, a week away. Yeah, two-night event First two-night SummerSlam.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Do we think two nights is too much? No, yeah. More wrestling all the time right.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And he's in a tag match.
Speaker 3:Yeah, oh, my God.
Speaker 1:First match I want to talk about Is that TLC. I called that TLC 12 man tag match. Do you know what we're talking about? Did you watch Raw at Smackdown?
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, I did Dude.
Speaker 1:The whole time. I've been saying for two weeks they're just going to put all these dudes in a ladder match. All these dudes in a ladder match.
Speaker 2:It's not just a ladder match.
Speaker 1:I didn't know it was going to be a TLC. Is it the first TLC? Listen, man, you know why it's a TLC yeah.
Speaker 2:Bubba's going to show up. Okay, no, no, no, I know that, but Hardy's going to show up.
Speaker 1:Oh, you're right. You're right. Sorry, I screamed into the mic. You're right.
Speaker 2:The hard years are going to show up. So it's just really funny because of course, a lot of you do not like to admit it, but if something happens on AEW, wwe reacts. If something happens on WWE, aew reacts yeah, okay, we talked about it last episode. All in, what happened? Yeah, edge saved Christian. Oh, formerly Edge and Christian, now Adam Copeland, christian Cage, and they hinted that they were going to cut and get back together. That's one of the teams.
Speaker 1:You saying Hardy's going to save Wyatt's? No, I'm just saying hang on.
Speaker 2:Then TNA reacted to that. We're like we got to do something now. Bully Ray came out.
Speaker 3:Yeah and AJ.
Speaker 2:Huh, no, no, no, wait, wait, wait, sorry, sorry, wait for this. Bully Ray came out, acknowledged Team Extreme and then hinted let's do one more match, team 3D versus Team Extreme. Then all of a sudden, wwe's like, hey, let's just go ahead and put all 12 of our teams, 12 men, into a TLC match, when literally all three of the original teams just were relevant.
Speaker 1:Were relevant yeah.
Speaker 2:That invented the TLC match.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you're right, you get what I'm saying. Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 2:It's all a conspiracy, yeah.
Speaker 1:Is it or is that how it is?
Speaker 2:It just makes sense to me, they're just all reacting, yeah.
Speaker 1:I mean, I think they've always done that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but I mean it's cool to see it play out. It's going to be awesome yeah.
Speaker 1:The spots are going to be insane because Axiom Fraxium is going to do insane stuff. They ain't even doing nothing and they're already in summer.
Speaker 2:Yeah, In a TLC match. So, yeah, you're up. Was Frax, was Axiom Matt, was Axiom's mask the Green Ranger on Monday or on Friday?
Speaker 1:Could have been. Yeah, I could see that.
Speaker 2:Because it was happening so fast with the fight you know, and he just kind of was getting thrown around, but I swore it looked like the Green Ranger helmet.
Speaker 1:We knew. I knew that match was going to happen. I didn't know it was going to be a TLC, but I knew it was going to happen. It was like they've been doing that forever and I think it's going to be awesome. That match will be great. We don't know. We don't know we're going to have a big event Saturday Hot take In the tag match for the women's tag team titles, with Charlotte and Alexa versus Judgment Day. I seen Alexa Bliss turns heel on Charlotte, nikki Cross comes out, appeal on charlotte, nikki cross comes out and then I guess like I don't know how to say it we get alexa back in the white. I guess. And yeah, you think so, yeah I don't know.
Speaker 2:I was getting ready to ask, though. Yeah, when you were mentioned that, I was like, hey, whatever happened to Alexa is supposed to be part of the Wyatt story.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Because it kind of just disappeared.
Speaker 1:Well, they had to get Charlotte over, yeah, and that's Alexa's job. But then that put like two women in.
Speaker 3:Wyatt 6.
Speaker 1:But I guess it don't matter. It don't really matter that much, but especially because Nikki Cross doesn't actually wrestle, yeah, I guess it don't matter, but it don't really matter that much but especially because Nikki Cross doesn't actually wrestle. Yeah, she don't. She interrupts every now and then yeah she's doing her job, man, she's awesome right now. Yeah, I mean yeah, dad. Dad said the other day he was like man does Nikki Cross have the easiest job ever? It's the best job.
Speaker 2:She's the best job of all time. She's doing it better than that. What's the pink haired pissy on.
Speaker 1:Pixie oh Gargano's wife. Yeah, yeah, I don't know she's saved by Gargano, though.
Speaker 2:Pissed on Pixie.
Speaker 1:The fact that she didn't get cut is because she's Gargano's wife.
Speaker 2:She's got the horrible 80s haircut. Cut is because she's got the horrible 80s haircut.
Speaker 1:And I like the way they ended that match on SmackDown last night with the Nikki Cross doing DQ or whatever.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's how it needed to be. It made sense.
Speaker 1:Just so it still made Who'd they face?
Speaker 2:They faced. Who'd they face? They faced Pass.
Speaker 1:I forgot who was it.
Speaker 2:Obviously they're not relevant.
Speaker 1:It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2:All that matters is the.
Speaker 1:Y, it was two other tag teams right the Street.
Speaker 2:Profits no, it was one tag team yeah, it was just one. Oh, it wasn't the street profits.
Speaker 1:Evidently we weren't there, no, so I was half asleep I was watching it while I was driving home yeah, okay super safe.
Speaker 2:I literally was super safe, all right um you, you texted the group chat and I was like no spoilers so you went to the hogan shop.
Speaker 1:I did before he died and we talked about that, but what about everything in there?
Speaker 2:um so, as a wrestling fan, um, it's really cool to see all the, all the pictures and all the sign stuff.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Really awesome. Now I will say there is a whole wall of pro-Trump the Hogan shirts.
Speaker 1:That to me. I'm not super surprised about that, obviously.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Obviously it's the way it is. That's why he gets booed in California. Yeah, but besides that, it's the way it is. That's why he gets booed in California. Yeah, but besides that, that's his crew.
Speaker 2:If you're a fan of wrestling, though, you would enjoy it just to see all the history. There was a wall of belts that were real belts. They actually had the original Stone Cold, steve Austin, wwf, not WWE WWF, smoke and Skull belt on the wall.
Speaker 2:But you could also tell who his friends were, because all the figures, everything was Hogan, nothing else. But they had some of the wrestling buddies, and the only wrestling buddies you could buy besides Hogan's was you could buy Scott Hall's. You could buy Andre the Giant's. You could buy Ultimate Warrior's too. You could buy Ultimate Warrior's. Which was really funny, though. Is you know the size of the wrestling buddies?
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know what he's talking about Wrestling buddies, the literal pillows you can wrestle with. Luke's got like three of them. Look this big. You ain't seen those. Oh my God.
Speaker 2:So I need one. We got to get him a wrestling buddy, yeah, but the Andre the Giant one is twice the size of the regular one.
Speaker 1:Nuh-uh, yeah Well, we got to get Andre the Giant. We got to get Andre the Giant, oh yeah.
Speaker 2:That's the one you need, but they had Andre's trunks on display. They had a poster that was signed by him and Sylvester Stallone during that yeah. Yeah, yeah, those Signed by him and sylvester stallone um some stuff signed by stinger he likes stinger too, because there's a lot of stick.
Speaker 2:Yeah him and stinger close. Yeah, um, there was an actual full-size ring in there but we didn't get in it because you could take pictures beside it. But if you wanted to get in it, it cost 25 a person and I was like, if I'm gonna pay 25 and I want to take a bump in this ring, and you get threw out.
Speaker 1:You think, yeah, I would get thrown out um how many people you think do that though? Oh, my god I think I'd do it.
Speaker 3:I think I'd be like take a bump in the ring.
Speaker 1:I'm not. I think I'll be like I'm not gonna buy a thing anyway.
Speaker 2:Oh, just, I will say this though, like it was a legit ring, like you could touch it, and under the canvas you could feel a pad. Oh, you can feel the pad yeah nice uh, so that was cool. Uh, all the belts were cool, they, they had a lot. I think they had two nwo big belt, the big gold oh, awesome with nwo on them um a lot of uh weight belts. They had the hulk maniac weight belt. They had a lot of stuff under glass that you could buy. But, man, it was really expensive.
Speaker 1:It was more of a show place too, though right, it's still cool.
Speaker 2:It's still cool.
Speaker 1:If you're a fan of wrestling, and wrestling Promoting his businesses too, though right. Promoting Real American Beer and promoting American Freestyle.
Speaker 2:That, and it was promoting his other shops, like his bars and stuff, the bars yeah, I forget about that. A lot of magnets of his bars, a lot of shot glasses, but I will say this Most of besides the Trump stuff, the only other. There was some Macho man stuff in there, but there was only two shirts. There was little kid shirts, macho man, but besides that, the only other shirt you could buy that wasn't a Hogan shirt was Andre the Giant shirt. So I got the Andre the Giant shirt.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 2:With the actual size of.
Speaker 1:Andre's hand. I love those yeah.
Speaker 2:And then it spells Andre the Giant through the hand creases. Yeah that's cool, so I got that one and it's in army green. That's awesome. So it was man. It's one of those things where if, like I said, if you're a wrestling fan, you love the history Like yeah. Clay would love it. Yeah, we'll definitely go. When we get down there, we'll definitely go if it's open.
Speaker 1:I don't know if I told you this, but we went to Andre the Giant Museum. Yeah, yeah, I remember seeing the pictures of it and that had Hogan stuff in it.
Speaker 2:Oh, another thing they had that I thought was cool was when he first debuted in WWE not under Hulk but I can't remember what they were calling him the Destroyer. The Destroyer. But then after that, good call Good call. After that, when he was unmasked and he was blonde, but he didn't have the mustache yet or nothing. Yeah, Remember when he would come out in the robe.
Speaker 1:The robe, yeah.
Speaker 2:Like that cape.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they had that cape. He was basically Thunder Lips yeah.
Speaker 2:They had that cape on display.
Speaker 1:The purple and the green cape.
Speaker 2:That's cool, they had that on display.
Speaker 3:We've seen Andre's jacket that he wore about the same era whenever when bobby brahman was his boss or his manager, the only, face of life andre bobby the brain.
Speaker 1:He just died. Did you see him how he looked right before he died?
Speaker 2:looked like spongebob's grandma so, um, I need to ask you this though, because I was I was a little confused, but they had a. It wasn't really under glass, but it was framed under glass, and it was a picture and a jacket from Liberace that was signed.
Speaker 1:Oh, dude, okay, Full transparency. If you would have asked me this question yesterday, I would have no idea what you're talking about. Okay, okay, but today I watched WrestleMania. What WrestleMania was it? I think it was WrestleMania, where Muhammad Ali was there. Mr T was there. That was WrestleMania 1. Okay, wrestlemania 1. Liberace was at WrestleMania 1. Okay, the spectacle that was there. That was WrestleMania 1. Okay, wrestlemania 1. Liberace was at WrestleMania 1. Okay, the spectacle.
Speaker 3:That makes sense now.
Speaker 1:Liberace was at. He came into the ring and done like a showgirls thing with the showgirls Madison Square. Garden MSG yeah.
Speaker 2:That makes sense now, yeah, okay.
Speaker 1:I would not have been able to tell you that before yesterday.
Speaker 2:Liber, yesterday Liberace's a famous singer opera and it's nothing, you would care about Main event, first main event.
Speaker 1:But he was really a famous celebrity and WrestleMania was more like a huge the first like 10 WrestleManias were more like a huge boxing event. You know how huge boxing events look. That's what they were more than a wrestling show. It was just like people were just there for what they were there, because it was a wrestling show. It was just like people were just there for what they were there, because it was a huge spectacle. It didn't matter what the event was, because it was just celebrities. And now it's SummerSlam.
Speaker 2:Now it's SummerSlam. Yeah, the first WrestleMania was him and Mr T in a tag team.
Speaker 1:Yeah, him and Mr T versus. I can't remember, I can't I just I can't remember, I can't.
Speaker 2:I just I can remember him and Mr T coming out in the rolling cart yeah, um, was it Paul Orndorff?
Speaker 1:uh uh, mr Wonderful Paul Orndorff and. Cowboy Bob Orton. Um, yeah, I remember it was Mr Wonderful, yeah um, but uh.
Speaker 2:Anyways, because of the Hogan shop, I was on.
Speaker 1:Randy Orton's dad. By the way, Randy Orton's dad.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I was on vacation. So my best friend, my brother, decided to take on the challenge of taking care of my Tasmanian devil of a dog.
Speaker 1:We had the best time. We had the best time. He's only a devil around you. He was chill with me, so for that I didn't want to go because I don't want to die.
Speaker 2:He wouldn't hurt you. He wouldn't hurt you. So because of that, behind you is a Hulk Hogan bag with a gift.
Speaker 3:Just for you.
Speaker 1:This bag's pretty cool though. Right yeah, the bag's really cool. It's great podcasting.
Speaker 2:Isn't that bag? School Hulk still rules, so I got you something.
Speaker 1:It's a shirt. I'm going to describe it to you. It's black. I'm unfolding it. I can't see what's on the front yet, but it's the Icon vs Icon. Andre and Hogan. That is sick.
Speaker 3:That is sick dude Wow that's awesome.
Speaker 1:That is awesome. I love that. Thanks, bro, bro you're welcome.
Speaker 2:Very cool, I didn't want to go into the Hulk shop.
Speaker 1:I didn't want to go into the Hulk shop and just get you a Hulkamania shirt oh, no, that'd be so like oh, it's cool, I would never have bought this shirt, so I'm glad you bought it. You would never buy that one. What I mean is no, no, no. What I mean is I would never buy a Hulk shirt. I know Myself, yeah, so I'm glad I'll have one. I'll literally I'm you know.
Speaker 2:Well, the only reason I got it I'm going to wear it all the time the only reason I got it is because it's Andre.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 2:That's why.
Speaker 1:I would have. Also, like I would buy a Hulk shirt now. Yeah, got into this. Um, you went down the rabbit hole. No, I got into this, separating the art from the artist thing, just because I still like the thriller, even though michael jackson, yeah, was trash. Yeah, like, you know what I mean. I don't, I don't care about that. Yeah, like oj simpson still won a heisman and rushed for 2 000 yards and and the reason I got that one?
Speaker 2:because that's the match where Andre put him over.
Speaker 1:Yeah, andre put him over. That's the one that made Hogan. That's made Hulkamania. No, the Sheik match is what made Hulkamania. Oh yeah, yeah. But, this is the one. Andre Hogan is the match.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and I know you like shirts like that where it's versus.
Speaker 1:I swear I love it. I really do. Sweet, not to make it about the Hogan show, but like I said, we got to talk about him. Separating the art from the artist and all the stuff he ever did. The Rock's match. The Rock's tribute to him was pretty cool.
Speaker 2:Well, we wouldn't have the.
Speaker 1:Rock no.
Speaker 2:Hogan was the first Rock Clay. Like you know the Rock. He went from wrestling to Hollywood. Yeah, if it wasn't for Hulk doing it first, we wouldn't. Those doors wouldn't have opened for John Cena, those doors wouldn't have opened for the Rock like they had. Like Hulk was the first one to get go from wrestling to being in Rocky yeah, he was really.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he was John Cena before John Cena was. I mean really, and that's why Cena respects him so much is, for that reason, terrible locker room guy, right.
Speaker 3:Terrible locker room guy.
Speaker 1:Nobody liked him. Iron Sheik hilariously hated him to the day he died.
Speaker 2:I really want to see what he tweeted, if he tweeted anything about him dying.
Speaker 1:I think he died, didn't he? Iron Sheik? Yeah, Iron Sheik is dead.
Speaker 2:Iron Sheik is dead Iron Sheik is dead. Well then he's probably in a.
Speaker 1:There's an AI bot running his account.
Speaker 2:No, I'm saying that he's probably in whatever afterlife that he prays to, yeah Going. You still suck, Hogan.
Speaker 1:Iron Sheik died the day of Bray Wyatt.
Speaker 2:Yeah, oh, yeah, that's right, okay, yeah, yeah, he took him with him.
Speaker 1:I remember that he took him with him, the only one of those guys that we're naming. That's probably in heaven.
Speaker 2:I will say this, though, when I said some things were overpriced you can get on WWE shop and you can get a Cody Rhodes weight belt.
Speaker 1:Cody Cody Rhodes. Hold on, hold on, hold on Cody Cody Rhodes. I want to say something real quick.
Speaker 3:Say it.
Speaker 1:Me and dad got on the website yesterday. There's a heel Cody Rhodes shirt on there. What, all right, it's the Cody Rhodes shirt with the blood coming off the skull. Do you know why they had to do that? Why, to mark us out. I mean, let's watch there. Do you know why they had to do that? Why, to mark us out? I mean, let's watch there.
Speaker 2:Because of that lawsuit with that band. That's the same name as American Nightmare, so they had to change the what I swear it's something to do with that, that weird copyright thing what anyways, back to what I was saying. What? Let's go um you can go on wwe shop and you get a cody rhodes weight belt for 100, 120 dollars and they have even one on one that he wore. No, these are not ones that he wore either.
Speaker 2:Bro, I could paint you a cody roads paint okay um, but you can, you can even get one on clearance for like 70 bucks. Um, they had a whole row of weight belts and luke wandered one and he's like dad, go ask how much they are. And I was like talking to the dude that ran the shop and I was asking how much they were and he said, yeah, these weight belts right here, brand new weight belts, you know, just printed out, yeah, hulkamaniacs. Um, he's like unsigned, they're 250.
Speaker 1:Signed, uh, they're 400 gosh lord god, 200 for us, 150 for a signing 200, yeah, and then and then.
Speaker 2:They had like cards and plastic that he had signed, I was like, well, how much are the cards? Because I was like, well, we'll get him, are the cards Cause? I was like, well, we'll get him a card, you know. And he was like all these cards, they range from 150. They go up to 500.
Speaker 1:Of course, all the time.
Speaker 2:And then, uh, he was talking, but the way he was talking, though, like he said that he had just talked to Hogan, like a few days ago he was getting ready to fly back down to get Hogan to sign some more because he was trying to get more memorabilia in there.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And then he was trying to explain the upcharge to him. He's like I'm really not charging that much for him because it's like Shut up yeah it's like what You're not charging much.
Speaker 1:Like I don't believe you. Anyway, he said said he's not charging much. How much is he making off a autograph? I also don't understand what's he making like the markup?
Speaker 2:so he pays hogan for the autographs. Uh, hogan charges a hundred dollars a sign. Any $100 signature, damn. But I will say this the coolest thing I saw in there and this is before clay's time was was he had a bunch of under the glass. He had a bunch of wrestling magazines.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, pro Wrestling.
Speaker 2:Pro Wrestling magazines from the late 80s excuse me, in the early 90s that were all signed and I was like, well, that's really cool, just because those are before. Well, that's really cool just because, like, those are before the internet. That's what me and your dad grew up on.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Finding out stuff.
Speaker 3:That's how we got all of our you lost the second match.
Speaker 1:Oh oh yeah, it's uh. Um, what were their names? Mr Fuji was their manager. This is awful. This matches, this matches wild Zeus. Zeus was terrible. That was awful. He tried, though he tried really hard. What match are you most excited about? Summerslam, the TLC. Who do you think is going to win? Cody or Cena?
Speaker 2:that's not the TLC, I know.
Speaker 1:But it's the main, main, main.
Speaker 2:I think I'm most excited for the TLC. I am not Jake bringing that python to the ring. I'm going to tell you what I'm not excited for the Cody and John Cena street fight why really? You know why why, because you can't put a weapon in john cena's hands. It's like hogan with a chair he uses the bill.
Speaker 1:Oh, you think he's gonna be so bad with it. He's horrible with stuff, man. Yeah, I forget about. He's bad with belts too. Yeah, he's bad with belts too. I think I don't think he'll use one. I think he'll just like he'll just I think he'll take it. Yeah, I think he'll attitude adjustment Cody onto a table off of the.
Speaker 2:But I think Cody if anybody uses weapons, it's got to be Cody.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Cody's going to use a weapon to win dirty dirty.
Speaker 2:I think somebody's gonna interfere, though I know someone's gonna. Who is it ron breaker if?
Speaker 1:you smell. Don't do it fiend, fiend. No, they're done with you, I think actually, actually.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he burned all the bridges yeah yeah I don't know what he done
Speaker 1:but, everyone's talking about somebody off? Yeah, because he's done hey how about you don't?
Speaker 2:how about you don't black your superstar's eye?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean, not only did he do that, but he took 25 minutes to get to the ring.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and he smoked weed on a live television show in front of kids.
Speaker 1:Did he?
Speaker 3:Yeah, oh, was that Raw debut, the Raw debut, the Raw debut he did yeah.
Speaker 2:And then the next one.
Speaker 1:They were like just use Sage.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because he was like he was supposed to come out with Jay, of course, and Jay's all about the kids, and what's he do? He lights up right in front of the camera while Jay's all about the kids. And what's he do? He lights up right in front of the camera while Jay's trying to walk out to eat with the kids smoking pot while he's going down the stairs he's just yeeting yeah, he's yeeting everywhere. Speaking of that, anybody catch Roman Reigns yeeting with?
Speaker 2:Jay, oh yeah, after the show they're like so over they're like Roman Reigns, I they're like roman reign.
Speaker 1:Roman reigns breaks character and yeets with jay. I was like I think this he's just doing that. I don't think he's breaking character, I don't think he's breaking character.
Speaker 2:I think he did it because, like I said, they gotta change him up a little bit, not saying he's not over he's over by far but like character wise. I told this earlier today to y'all in the group chat it Roman Reigns is all always got that or where no one can beat me, I'm the bad-ass.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:But you know it, it's not going to work well when you have, when the franchise is so saturated with heels and so many of those heels have that same aura right now, like braun breaker yeah like braun breaker.
Speaker 1:Literally is wrong, is really literally the white roman reigns yeah, because he's he's healed, but we, we want him to win yeah, like.
Speaker 2:So you gotta let him be a little goofy now. You gotta let him do that. And I, that's what I meant when I was like they're doing the same thing with Charlotte, matching Charlotte up with Alexa. But it's not to get hurt him over, like Alexa, like Charlotte, it's to get him a little bit more approachable. Does that make sense?
Speaker 1:Yeah, you think Cody's going to heel turn at SummerSlam. Really Get a heel turn at SummerSlam. Really, I don't think at SummerSlam.
Speaker 2:I don't either.
Speaker 1:I think you got to wait until at least Mania yeah. Well, something's going to happen because they said there is going to be some change-ups that no one sees coming. I just don't see it being that Like just because I think it's too early, like I know we've been saying that for a while, but it really just feels like no, it really is too early.
Speaker 2:It is too early, but we also said to Like we just got him back yeah. Well, we also said to like, if they're talking about it, it's not going to happen.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:But Cody's saying and it kind of smells like itody's saying in the podcast I think I still got one good year left in me as being a face before they turn on me sets the stage for everyone going, oh, we got one more year and being a face, yeah. So it makes sense if they are going to turn him, to turn them, because everyone's thinking it's not going to happen because of that, yeah, but I forgot about him saying that.
Speaker 1:I guess that's not even really what felt. I just felt like he just came back and we kind of need him. I don't know. It's also like you said, like with the saturation, like do we really need Cody as a heel? Because Cody's a heel is kind of silly.
Speaker 2:The only thing I.
Speaker 1:He would have to do stuff where he wasn't like Dom. He'd have to do stuff to where he was actually hated you stuff where he wasn't like Dom, he'd have to do stuff where he was actually hated.
Speaker 2:You know what I mean, like Cena and we talked about last episode, where the only way to get a baby to flip a baby is to flip a heel. But maybe I'm coming across it's Cena. Maybe it's not Cena, maybe it's Roman. Right, I was thinking that too, because we need Roman. No, was thinking that too, because we need, no matter what anyone says.
Speaker 1:We need Roman in the franchise can I ask you this what if Roman turns heel?
Speaker 2:goes to Solo. Yeah, that would be.
Speaker 1:I wouldn't understand the line, but I mean I could see was Solo not wearing a red shirt last night?
Speaker 2:or was it the feed I was watching, because it kind of looked like purple or pink? I'm not sure. I don't think he was wearing a red shirt. Oh really, like, when he took his jacket off, it wasn't blood red.
Speaker 3:It was like I don't know.
Speaker 2:It was weird. It just didn't look like his colors that he usually wears.
Speaker 1:Right, but it could Tala, tonga, tonga Tala.
Speaker 3:Tala, Tonga, Shorter and Tala.
Speaker 1:Tonga Shorter mid-sized Tonga.
Speaker 2:You know the way he's built. He reminds me of Kevin Nash in his prime Tala Tonga oh yeah, oh for sure, yeah, he looks like that. He comes out in those black jeans and stuff but the way he's built, he's built just like him.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he does all right too. I kind of like this stuff in the ring. It wasn't too bad. He's a little rusty, but yeah.
Speaker 2:I'm not saying rusty, he's been wrestling forever.
Speaker 1:He's just not. I mean, you know he's always going to look good when he's wrestling with the other Tonga. Yeah, he messed up the other night, didn't he Clay?
Speaker 2:yeah, I don't remember what it was, but he messed up the other night honestly I think after watching knowing the Roman, like seeing him yeeting and them trying to do that- with him and Jay. I think they're trying to make him like the fun one yeah, they the fun one.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they have to.
Speaker 2:They have to elevate him through that it makes sense for the OTC, or what's it called the TC1 shirt.
Speaker 1:OTC1? Otc1, yeah, I think.
Speaker 2:Mirrors QB1?. Right, because it kind of makes sense now.
Speaker 1:Well, let Cody turn then. Since we're already on that, are we getting Zilla at SummerSlam?
Speaker 3:No.
Speaker 1:You don't think so. No, I think we get Zilla soon, though Okay.
Speaker 2:I don't think we'll get.
Speaker 1:Zilla.
Speaker 3:Because he showed up in TNA.
Speaker 1:Here's why I say no, we don't need Zilla right now. No, we have to wait until. I just think it's too early for him to come back, because you got all this stuff with Jimmy and Big Jim. Yeah.
Speaker 2:Big Jim.
Speaker 1:And the NFTs, and.
Speaker 2:My effing thumb.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 2:It's my family tree.
Speaker 1:My family tree. That's stupid because Kyle's not in it.
Speaker 2:You know what? It's funny because it took a year for them to actually tell you what MFT stood for. I had no idea Because, remember, when the first shirt came out, they were like this makes no sense. My fucking thumb Foot thunder. I think you can't bring Zilla in until you bring Tama Tonga back.
Speaker 1:When's he coming back, I wonder. I didn't even know he was hurt.
Speaker 2:He's out for something, hey.
Speaker 1:Pat McAfee told you he was done.
Speaker 2:College game day.
Speaker 1:He's gone, baby.
Speaker 2:I know it's college game day but he was literally like he's wore out dude, I know he was.
Speaker 1:He was gassed, and so I see a thing that was talking about Adam.
Speaker 3:Cole not getting Not Adam Cole Baby.
Speaker 1:Michael Cole, michael Cole, michael not getting enough credit that he's like outlasted everybody, like outlasted JR Jerry. Well, jerry had a heart attack, well, yeah, but he came back. I mean, done other stuff on live TV and he still came back, hogan, yeah jeez gosh, but he was talking about him outlasted. And he still came back Hogan. Yeah, jeez Gosh, but he was talking about him outlasting Pat. And then Corey Graves has done really well. I really love Corey Graves calling matches.
Speaker 2:Funny thing about Michael Coe is he's the only one that survived McMahon's wrath. Oh, yeah, he was the only one that wasn't scared to stand up to mcmahon when mcmahon would be like cussing at him through the, through the headset, yeah, and stuff. After the show he would get up in mcmahon's face.
Speaker 1:Well, michael cole used to be backstage. Yeah, he worked his way up to the booth, but he would get.
Speaker 2:He would get in mcmahon's after that and be like don't you dare talk to me like that again.
Speaker 1:Who? Corey Corey did that. No, michael Cole did.
Speaker 2:Yeah, michael Cole was not scared. To give it back to everyone else was scared. Yeah, michael Cole, as small as he used to be, like he was a little bitty guy. Yeah, he was tiny, he would get right up in his face. He's got a figure coming out.
Speaker 1:He does. Michael Cole build a figure. He's winning the title.
Speaker 2:He's winning the title.
Speaker 1:I can see that. Oh, and Charles Anderson has a build, a figure. Referee Robinson Robinson, charles Robinson, that's what I meant. Lil Nate, lil Nate, yeah.
Speaker 2:Lil.
Speaker 3:Nate, I don't know who that is.
Speaker 2:It's just Ric Flair. Actually, that's going to be an awesome custom that you can make.
Speaker 1:With him, yeah.
Speaker 2:You can make a little Nate.
Speaker 1:You literally just take Ric Flair and take Ric Flair off and you put Charles.
Speaker 2:Robinson, you can make a little Nate with him Work or shoot.
Speaker 1:Do it oh.
Speaker 2:No, I have it, just give me a second, I have it. I have it. I have it, just give me a second, I have it. I have it. I have it. Hold it, hang on, hold it, hold it. Um is uncle howdy, oh, still hurt well is it?
Speaker 1:what did he do the other night?
Speaker 2:what did he do the other night? He kind of just fl?
Speaker 1:flailed his arms and did some punching and jumping on him. He don't have to wrestle.
Speaker 2:I know, I'm just saying is it a work or shoot that he's still hurt?
Speaker 3:Is he fake?
Speaker 2:Is it just like them, just writing him not into matches? I think it's probably a work.
Speaker 1:I think he's probably fine.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:But I don't think he needs to wrestle because Gacy and Loomis are awesome. He probably was hurt.
Speaker 2:He was hurt?
Speaker 1:Yeah, he was hurt, but Gacy and Loomis are awesome.
Speaker 2:That's why the Good Brothers got fired. No, that's not why the Good Brothers got fired. That's why Razor those guys got fired. And.
Speaker 1:Karrion is over. As ever, he's in SummerSlam baby. Over as ever, he's in SummerSlam baby.
Speaker 2:Yep, I'm so happy he's in SummerSlam. Speaking of those two Razor and I always want to call them Toka and Razor I like Ninja.
Speaker 1:Turtles yeah.
Speaker 2:You know what I'm talking about. Yeah, that's not them, though, but it's funny, because the only other time that I've ever witnessed someone doing that was when the Ninja Turtle figures came out and New. Day Day before they became Bad New Day. They were in like a backstage little promo when they came out. He's like listen here, tokon Rezar.
Speaker 1:What is their names?
Speaker 3:Rezar.
Speaker 1:Rezar and Akum? I think you don't know.
Speaker 3:It's definitely Rezar and Akum, you don't know, it's definitely.
Speaker 1:R and A. Come, I know, calm down. You don't even know what it does. You can press it if you want to Woo. No, no, I don't let you use the buttons Now. The show's over, worker shoot the show's over. Oh, worker Shoot. He just says uh he don't have anything.
Speaker 2:He don't have anything to say.
Speaker 1:I love saying I'm sorry, I didn't have anything to say you know, this is so good.
Speaker 2:Um, really, I'll carry and cross.
Speaker 1:What's his match Um?
Speaker 2:Sammy, sammy right.
Speaker 1:Right, it's just a normal match, really.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's a normal match, but are we going to see his wife?
Speaker 1:go to.
Speaker 2:Sammy.
Speaker 1:Right, I think that Did you see the?
Speaker 2:way she was staring at him the other night.
Speaker 1:I legitimately think she's going to Sammy.
Speaker 2:I think Sammy will turn evil, and she'll go to him. See the thing is, though, the only thing that I have. I don't have a problem with it. Don't have a problem with it. Don't have a problem with it whatsoever I don't think, sammy zane, not the character, but sammy, yeah, won't let that happen because, yeah, I can see that he is so devoted. Yeah, his family like he, doesn't he?
Speaker 1:you know, I don't think he would let that be written in maybe he'll do it for the business, though I don't't think he will I don't think he would either, but I mean she could still turn on him she could still turn.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that would be wild to see a bunch of shirts together.
Speaker 3:Or KO comes back.
Speaker 2:He's hurt man.
Speaker 1:Kevin is right.
Speaker 2:He's hurt. You say he's hurt. We got another Sting figure coming out, multiple Sting figures. That means he's coming back.
Speaker 1:No, they're just milking that, because there are other figures.
Speaker 2:He's still under contract with AEW.
Speaker 1:Well, I don't know. I'm more interested in MJF's contract.
Speaker 3:I kind of want to get him back. I kind of want to get MJF's WB. I know who we're getting right, who?
Speaker 1:Brock Lesnar, I don't know, work or shoot the TKO's ban Brock Lesnar. Work, work. I think it's work.
Speaker 2:We said this, we said this last episode.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, yeah, I think they're lying about that, yeah, yeah, absolutely that's bull crap Too much coming out Too much coming out. Maybe that's who interrupts. Oh, what if?
Speaker 2:he's Cody turns or Stop. No, stop. Cody turns and Roman comes out to save everybody.
Speaker 1:I think you're both wrong.
Speaker 3:Tell me.
Speaker 1:I think he comes out to punch in Gunther match Brock Brock yeah.
Speaker 3:Why I don't think.
Speaker 1:I think Gunther retains clean and I think Brock's music hits.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah.
Speaker 1:He's like don't, don't, don't.
Speaker 2:I don't know, man, because I'm still thinking of Old Paul versus New Paul.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Old Paul, New Paul would be really good. Do you think Punk's going to beat Gunther?
Speaker 2:No.
Speaker 1:I don't think so now. No, I don't think so now. No, I don't think so either well then maybe he is actually oh god foils. I have no idea I don't know.
Speaker 2:I did see, though, a funny meme where it it was. Um says me on my way to watch Fantastic Four and it's Punk going, it's clobbering time walking down the stairs of the theater.
Speaker 1:All of my takes on this episode is from YouTube.
Speaker 2:You're not supposed to say that.
Speaker 1:From a YouTuber, a wrestling YouTuber, who Santi's app that is. Yeah, I know you can shout him out. Though you can shout him out, are your texts the same as his? Yeah, does that feel to not be original.
Speaker 2:It's the TikToker that Rhino's obsessed with. Oh okay, Like anytime.
Speaker 1:I just watch Simon Miller and that's like the only person I watch really.
Speaker 2:Just because I think I like white culture you like white culture, calm down. Is that what you just said?
Speaker 1:Well, it is Hulk Hogan day. Do you think he had a heart attack because he's seen an interracial couple?
Speaker 2:Did you ever Wait? Did you ever see?
Speaker 1:I can separate the art from the artist. Did you ever see the? The artist is a bad guy.
Speaker 2:Like you know, when they were doing like the promos for like a wrestler, would go to a card shop and unwrap yeah.
Speaker 1:Do you?
Speaker 2:ever see the Seth Rollins one.
Speaker 3:Uh-uh.
Speaker 2:So Seth Rollins was at a card shop and the owner of the card shop was standing beside him. In the video, the owner of the card shop is black American.
Speaker 1:Uh, black american. Um, why'd you say it like that? I don't know. Yeah, that's right, that's no, I'm not. No, no, no, we're, we're sticking with.
Speaker 2:Sticking with that. I don't know what else to say.
Speaker 1:The card owner was black worse than that, but uh, it was funny because he he was unwrapping and he he's seen a signed card.
Speaker 3:You know like one of ten, and he's like, oh, yeah, yeah, and then he went oh fudge.
Speaker 2:And they were like what is it? And he pulled up his Hogan and the owner immediately was like yeah, he don't like us man.
Speaker 1:Signed Hogan. That's probably worth a lot of money.
Speaker 2:Probably is now.
Speaker 1:You're right.
Speaker 2:I should have dropped 150 for one of the cards.
Speaker 1:You definitely should have paid 150 for a signed Hogan. Yeah, well, you know hindsight, that was awful that was me. I sent both you guys. It was me. That's terrible. We're that. I can't, I'm getting, I'm getting out of here.
Speaker 2:Yee-haw DDT'd his ass. Are we really done? Yeah, that was pretty good, thank you, this is awesome, this is awesome.
