Work Or Shoot?: A Wrestling Podcast

The Beast's Return: Brock Lesnar Shakes Up SummerSlam

Team T4 Episode 33

The unmistakable roar of "The Beast is Back!" sets the tone for this thrilling breakdown of WWE SummerSlam 2024. We called Brock Lesnar's return months ago after spotting his figure in merchandise shipments, and our predictions finally came true in spectacular fashion as he confronted John Cena following Cody Rhodes' championship defense.

Throughout our passionate discussion, we dissect both nights of what could have easily been condensed into a single action-packed event. The contrast between the exceptional main events and the middling undercard becomes our central focus—with Cody vs. Cena emerging as the weekend's standout match. Their contest featured masterful storytelling, unexpected spots including a piledriver, and camera work that teased a potential Cody heel turn that had us all speculating.

We don't hold back on criticizing production issues that plagued several matches. From photographers blocking camera shots to chaotic coverage during the TLC bout, these technical difficulties detracted from otherwise solid performances. The strange absence of The Judgment Day throughout the entire weekend left us puzzled, while other notable moments like Seth Rollins channeling Kevin Nash's infamous fake injury angle provided delightful nostalgia for longtime fans.

Beyond simply recapping matches, we explore deeper storytelling implications: John Cena's retirement tour schedule (just 12 appearances remaining), what's next for CM Punk whose promos continue outshining his ring work, and how WWE might navigate championship storylines with rumors of both Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns taking time off for filming commitments.

As we assign our ratings to the event (mostly 1s and 2s out of 4), we acknowledge that despite its flaws, SummerSlam succeeded in creating genuine moments of surprise that recaptured that childlike feeling of unpredictability in wrestling. Join us for this unfiltered, enthusiastic breakdown that celebrates both the highs and lows of WWE's summer spectacular.

RING THE DAMN BELL

Speaker 1:

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome into Work or Shoot podcast brought to you by the team of Showing Color Claybo's here. Monroe don't have a mic, but he's here. Wes, little Wes, you got to make a noise. I've done it for you. Yeah, that's what you would have done. It's too late. You didn't do it.

Speaker 2:

Your little brother would do it Not shy.

Speaker 1:

Listen, the beast is back. We called it here First. All the time Followed the figs, knew he was coming.

Speaker 2:

I was the one that announced it Because I called you in a frantic Nervous pace, freaking out when I found that figure.

Speaker 1:

Why is this figure here?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Summer Slam Shipper. All kinds of rocks in it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and then I noticed that they kept showing that Summer Slam moment.

Speaker 2:

It was like the Seth moment that they kept showing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

If he was really injured. They're not going to show him getting injured.

Speaker 1:

So obviously we're recording this right after SummerSlam Night 2., night 2. We watched Night 1 together and then we're recording Night 2. Clay, not a fan of Night 1, actually Didn't love it. Why didn't you like Night 1? I don't know. I think it was really mid.

Speaker 3:

You're really good? I don't think.

Speaker 2:

I agree.

Speaker 1:

Okay, you agree you agree, luke, it wasn't that good. Oh, so the kids didn't like it.

Speaker 4:

What do you think about it? Well, there was nothing like major in it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, except for.

Speaker 4:

Seth Gashin.

Speaker 1:

Okay, clay. Well, it's not that. I just think the matches were mid. Yeah, I thought the worst match of the night was Sammy and Karrion. I hate to say it, but there was nothing to it. It was just Sammy winning clean, and if Sammy won with a pop. I would have been okay with it, because Karrion would have been happy. We're going to just rip Karrion. Are we going to say that?

Speaker 2:

Yeah. He's dead dead, I would say so.

Speaker 1:

I think so. I don't think anybody can do anything about it. I think he's gone see you in TNA yeah, that's okay, just send him there. Yeah, and then Jade just getting brought down, riding the elevator on down in the roster.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, cause she's not on Tiffy's level.

Speaker 2:

She's a middle card. She's not on Rhea's level.

Speaker 1:

She's not on Rhea's level, for sure, for sure. But whatever, that match was mediocre. But anyway, we've been talking about Brock coming back. For months For months and saying that he had to, absolutely felt like he was going to, and then the story came out that he was banned from TKO and I was like, well, now he's definitely coming back, he didn't tell me somebody's banned, yeah, definitely coming back if they're banned.

Speaker 1:

Uh, all in all, though, I feel like lackluster pay-per-view as far as things that could happen that didn't happen, regardless of're marking out or not right that all the stuff that could have happened that didn't happen yeah well, where's rock?

Speaker 2:

he doesn't exist.

Speaker 1:

For the first time ever he's asking for yeah, I guess him getting left out though is. I think it's okay, because he's been left out of everything anyway, so I actually think it's fine.

Speaker 2:

So I feel, man, honestly, it's like we had two matches that were build-up storylines.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And I feel like everything else had no meaning.

Speaker 1:

So I will say this you know what I say. There's another podcast. This is for a different podcast, but I always say you know, this could have been in an email. Yeah, this could have been one night. Yeah, we could have just done all this. Okay, drop any match. What match do we drop? Let's move? That match sucked, yeah, all right. All let's that match sucked. Yeah, all right. All the hype that match could be, it wasn't.

Speaker 3:

But I still think, I still like the tiffy jade match we could have just done on smackdown.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's right we could just do that on smackdown and not worry about it.

Speaker 2:

All of them were like raw or smackdown level match.

Speaker 1:

Most of them were, and that's why I said we could just do eight matches one night, five hours uh, I'd be fine with five hours.

Speaker 2:

Hey, there's another show that does that. It's not WWE.

Speaker 1:

I know, I know that's what I'm saying. That's why I've been kind of on that, because it smells like that feels better than two nights, Of course. I mean, I guess we all got to hang out for two nights, so I'm not going to bitch about some of it Three nights, actually Three nights, actually three nights. Yeah, smackdown, smackdown and we got it again tomorrow. Well, like I said, I just feel, like you know, something else will happen tomorrow too?

Speaker 2:

yeah, I hope so. But like the main events were the beginning, the closing, and being like the closing wrapping up of a storyline, beginning of another one going through overblading gun through overblading. But I just meant shout out showing color, punk finally, like getting a belt, and then you know Seth cashing in.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

But then Cody finally getting the belt back and then Brock showing up. Those were the only two matches that really like went full circle. Everything else just didn't make sense. Why did like? Like you said, the cage match made no sense, dom match was cool. Where was the judgment day?

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

The TLC match was really cool, great spot. It would have been better. It could have been better. You're right, it would have been better, or not, luke? And on top of that, too, there was so much chaos and it wasn't good. Contained chaos.

Speaker 1:

It was like the camera guys even know where to go and also shout out to triple h because, um, I feel sorry for him right now because I feel like he's gonna be cutting and firing a lot of camera guys and a lot of crew, yeah, and photographers put, if we put some, put some respect on people's names. We have to take some respect off some people's names and we've said the cameramen have done good before. But speaking of putting respect on people's names, candice LeRae One. She does one thing and we feel justified for it. She took a bump through a ladder. That was hardcore. That match was awesome actually it was good.

Speaker 2:

Like I said, the ending was weird. The ending was weird. I just like I said, I felt like it was. Maybe it wasn't too much, but the camera guys kind of just yeah, like half the spots, or like they were trying to zoom in, and there was a photographer in front of the damn camera while they're trying to zoom in on somebody well, like literally, netflix will have it next time becky and lyra match.

Speaker 2:

They were trying to do a spot. Lyra literally threw Becky into a photographer because he would not move out of the way.

Speaker 1:

Honestly, there's a few matches I could get rid of. I would definitely get rid of the.

Speaker 2:

Becky-Lyra.

Speaker 1:

Becky-Lyra was bad Steel Cage. Steel Cage and Becky-Lyra they're both tonight.

Speaker 3:

Which kind of sucks, I think they expected it to Still Cage and Becky Lyra.

Speaker 1:

They were both tonight. Which kind of sucks, lyra. Well, I think they expected it to be better than it was.

Speaker 2:

Well, yeah, I mean, obviously it was not good it kind of went off the rails when she was supposed to be zip cuffed. And then she threw one of her hands out of the zip cuff and then immediately put it back in. No one saw it. The camera was right on her hands and one was like whoop.

Speaker 1:

I want to point something out that's weird and is a little bit lazy. Two handcuff spots tonight is a little bit lazy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, one was a zip tie, they're handcuff spots.

Speaker 1:

Quote, unquote cuff spots.

Speaker 2:

Excuse me, I'm a little tired. What was the point of Zilla not Zilla? Sorry, we were hoping Zilla fought too, Jacob fought too, getting handcuffed, breaking the handcuffs to show how strong he is, and then losing.

Speaker 1:

Getting beat by the top of a fence, yeah, and then pretending like he won Because he got to beat up the botch guy and the fat guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

What is going on? Hold on, let me open my sparkling water because of this. That's how I feel about it. Straight edge CM Punk not drinking a beer, it's sparkling water.

Speaker 1:

He's not straight edge, he's just botch man, tall man, fat man.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, that was the team. Was the team?

Speaker 1:

to be honest, that team was uh, I'm kind of worried we're gonna get bloodline war games again yeah, I am too, it feels like we might do that again do you want to see that? Not again, I don't think anybody wants to see it again, though, like I think it should be the bloodline.

Speaker 4:

I won't watch it um shut up I it should be the Bloodline.

Speaker 1:

I won't watch it Shut up, I'm serious, you won't watch it. I won't watch the War Games, man. Oh my God that ain't true?

Speaker 2:

If that was the case, you were going to watch it tonight, because the whole last night you were like I'm not watching this, it's bad. And you sat there the whole time and you sat there the whole time.

Speaker 1:

Yep, okay, so I will acknowledge that. We said about 50 times during the match that Cody was going to turn heel. We did, but we never wavered from Brock coming back. I feel like we thought one of the Rocks was going to come back B-Rock or the Rock, we said one with the Ock in it?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, somebody with Ock, or.

Speaker 1:

Rock works too. You're just taking off another.

Speaker 2:

Can we just talk about how awesome the helmet was, because I feel like it was pretty cool with the cameraman around it. Oh my God, I know.

Speaker 1:

It was pretty cool.

Speaker 2:

I'm not going to cuss.

Speaker 1:

But you know who's entrance gear was better, who's AJ's gear was better. Aj's gear rocked.

Speaker 4:

So much better than anyone's.

Speaker 2:

Hey though, Mysterio coming out of that mask more and more.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, his uncle's mask.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's his uncle's mask. Well, actually it's his great uncle's mask? Yeah, something like that. Yeah, because it's Ray Mysterio's mask. Yeah, it's Ray Jr's uncle, Ray Mysterio, yeah.

Speaker 1:

We do this all the time. Yeah, I know.

Speaker 2:

But he's coming out in that mask more and more, and when he finished the match, he put the mask back on this time.

Speaker 1:

He did. That match was uneventful.

Speaker 2:

It was.

Speaker 1:

Ultimately to what it could have been that match was uneventful.

Speaker 2:

The most shocking thing was seeing that he had skeleton socks on to match.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that was insane, took his own boot off. Uh, I do think the cody the cody cena match really was like the best match of the of the two nights hey, that might be the best match scene was put on in the last five years. This part of his career, for sure.

Speaker 2:

He took some bumps.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was awesome. He did a sunset flip Is that what that's called?

Speaker 3:

No.

Speaker 1:

I want a Mexican Destroyer right.

Speaker 2:

He did a Mexican Destroyer.

Speaker 1:

No, it's a sunset flip.

Speaker 2:

Mexican.

Speaker 1:

Destroyer is them landing on their head and Cody did a sunset flip. The Mexican destroyer is like. The Mexican destroyer is them landing on their head and Cody did a pile driver Cody did a pile driver Pop rocks. Pop rocks is a sunset flip.

Speaker 2:

Cody did a pile driver.

Speaker 1:

As soon as Cody pile driver, we were all like, oh, he's going to be a hell. Can I just say one thing though? After seeing the pile driver, I would like to apologize to Heavy D and say, yes, kevin was right. Kevin was right. I know that's what I'm saying. That's what it feels like the whole time. Yeah, kevin is right all the time.

Speaker 2:

Which he was like Cody's been to all his class. He knows how to act. He knows how to show emotion. He knows how to act, he knows how to show emotion. So they were zooming in on his face a lot during the match to show like little heelish things, like making him look like he was trying to fight it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've seen that too. What do you want to say, Colt?

Speaker 4:

Don't sing them. I did bye.

Speaker 2:

I did bye. Oh, he did an AA. Don't sing the D it at five. He did it. No, you're thinking about dusty saying he's doing it at five, but it was actually aa, I was just foreshadowing I know you were but we knew.

Speaker 1:

We knew what was coming. I actually didn't expect brock to get in the ring. I didn't know that either.

Speaker 2:

No, I thought it was just going to be a stare down. I thought it was going to be a stare down. It'd be over.

Speaker 1:

I thought it was going to be like punk. It's great. I've never been a Brock Lesnar fan, and I am right now.

Speaker 2:

Can I put some respect on somebody else I? Am right this second, can I put some respect on somebody else? Kelly Roll, yeah, yeah, that was good. Yeah, that was fun.

Speaker 4:

God, he took a bump.

Speaker 1:

That was a fun match. He took a couple bumps he was talking about Claymore and he's been wearing that boot since it happened. Yeah, so Claymore was to his mouth and it messed him up.

Speaker 4:

What about the splash to the non-stable? Yeah, that was brutal With the Google lenses on.

Speaker 1:

Logan Paul put the Google lens on. That was awesome, smashing the two things together.

Speaker 2:

We couldn't figure out why he was wearing glasses.

Speaker 1:

Then we couldn't figure out why he was handing the glasses to the announcer after he fell through Bright-eyed, like handing it out.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, because it was streaming bro.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, work or shoot sets injury. Can we reevaluate that?

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

Work will go on. I said it was a work. Can we just talk about?

Speaker 2:

that whole Easter egg thing, because we all wanted it to be the Nash.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So that happened.

Speaker 1:

When we say Nash, we mean, I don't know, I think it was Bash at the Beach, something like that, yeah, something like that. That he was in a wheelchair with his leg up and a blanket over it and he under the blanket and pulled his leg out and he was not in it. He was not in a cast.

Speaker 2:

So and he'd done the match Beginning of, during the Logan Paul match, there was all kinds of signs being held up that were given out that said you are an outsider jelly rolls an outsider. But outsiders or outsider was written or printed in the actual like font of nwo the outsiders it was then seth did that with his crew, the crew no seth did that with his crew.

Speaker 2:

The crew no Seth did that with his leg, did the Nash thing and then after that during the post show his crew went, came out to the announcers during the post show and actually acted like nwo, like wrote, like messed up their hair and messed up their jackets, took all their notes and threw them everywhere, never spoke to him and then, like, waved to the crowd and walked off. So I was like those kind of little Easter eggs. They know what they're doing in that little universe.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and it feels like they're giving us those more and more. It feels like they're giving us those more and more and seeing if we can catch that and see if we can figure out what's going on the whole time. But I think like, no matter what, pay attention to those details feels like it pays off at this point. But also I guess we paid too much attention to them, because this is other stuff where I'm like.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, that's gotta be, and actually it's nothing, which is like 95% of the time it's actually we all thought we all thought Mr Ray Jr Was coming back.

Speaker 2:

But we kind of had a good reason because the original SummerSlam poster from months ago that we talked about me and Dusty saw it and he was like man, it kind of gave it away because at that point Roman hadn't came back yet and on the poster was Roman and on the poster also was Ray.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I really thought Ray was going to be here.

Speaker 2:

So that was not like one of those marking out guests and it was like it was on the poster.

Speaker 1:

Mysterio was on the poster, yeah, and I really really thought Ray was going to be there. Noticed what did you notice.

Speaker 4:

When I walked in there I looked at the post show and it said nine tables broken in the TLC match.

Speaker 1:

Just not, yeah, yeah, just not I can see that the two Slim Jims that were set up on one side.

Speaker 2:

And then the four.

Speaker 4:

Three, three of them broke, oh three of them broke.

Speaker 2:

Three of those four broke. That was pretty cool.

Speaker 1:

I love that match. I don't care about the Slim Jim tables that are pre-set up, the ones that have the holes. There has to be more than 9 tables. There were 2, they were stacked on. There was 4 table spots, yeah, but the first spot was stacked tables Because they had knobs in them where the other tables went into.

Speaker 4:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 1:

In the Slim Jim tables. One of those spots was double tables. The DIY went through 2 tables, went through double tables. Tables went into. Oh yeah, in the slim gym tables there was one of those spots was double table.

Speaker 4:

The diy went through two tables, went through a double tables but the first like whatever spots, lots of tables when they was like doing flips onto the tables oh yeah that's the four.

Speaker 2:

That's the four, and then there was three. Broke into stacks anyways.

Speaker 1:

Um, it would have been so much better at night it would I just want to say that that would have been so much better at night. It would I just want to say that that would have been better at night. I think the six o'clock start time made it weird In your, everyone's opinion with this.

Speaker 2:

Did you feel it worked or didn't work?

Speaker 1:

It was cool spots, but with the interference that was weird to me just because I kind of lost who was in the match. Yeah, like there was so much, there was so many, so much stuff going on. There were so many people that I couldn't necessarily keep up with who was in the match.

Speaker 2:

I get it and.

Speaker 1:

But I felt that way about that women's match the other night too on what was that? On. I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Anyway, a wrestling program.

Speaker 1:

It's probably a personal problem that I can't keep up when there's when there's 12 people in the match work or shoot.

Speaker 2:

Wayne's really on vacation.

Speaker 1:

Wayne's always on vacation bro, it's like who's? That be a great time. Who, who's Wayne?

Speaker 3:

What.

Speaker 2:

Oh, have you seen the group chat? Yeah, yeah, every time he says something, I just go who.

Speaker 1:

That's a shame. It would have been a good time to record too.

Speaker 2:

Great time to record.

Speaker 1:

Well, I guess we'll forget about him Unsigned. Didn't sign his contract extension. Nope Wayne, come back. No champs, come back.

Speaker 2:

We got a couple title changes. He's going to show up with a pipe bomb.

Speaker 4:

We only got three.

Speaker 1:

No tag champs. No tags no male tag champs no.

Speaker 2:

Women, women.

Speaker 1:

I know it's confusing the friends with benefits, just confuse me. The friends with benefits, whoa, whoa. Not your, not your fantasies, their real name oh, you don't remember it alliances with.

Speaker 3:

I think it's, we're not friends well, okay, they're, they're funny yeah and way to go, alexa getting Charlotte over, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I like Charlotte now she's funny, it's real. I'm a real easy mark. You can really turn me super easy on her. Hey, how about Cena getting over with one promo?

Speaker 2:

That's what I was about to say One promo, One promo bro.

Speaker 1:

That was so crazy.

Speaker 2:

He went from heel to baby in one night without turning on anyone Work or shoot, then Was it all part of the plan or could he not take being a heel anymore, because like to make a wish, stuff and things? No, I think this is part of the plan.

Speaker 1:

I think this is the time frame Cody beating him like it makes sense.

Speaker 2:

For this to be the time frame, because I think they had Brock planned, like planned coming back.

Speaker 1:

They definitely had Brock planned, they made his figure.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I know that I was the one that found it. But I just meant like I was just thinking of. I mean, he's made more wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation than anybody. He's like the number one. Everyone wants to, you know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So, I was just not marking out or anything, but kind of felt bad for those kids that are like wanted him to, you know, and then they're like no, they see him on TV and he's like cussing and acting like he hates everybody and calling kids stupid. You know, that probably like kind of went to the Make-A-Wish stuff.

Speaker 4:

True, he's probably went back to it.

Speaker 1:

I don't think so't. I don't think so you don't think so. No, I think I think it. Just I think it's his name. I think he was still doing the Make-A-Wish stuff. He also Just might not be doing the Make-A-Wish stuff right now.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Do you know?

Speaker 2:

How I knew that it was not fake.

Speaker 1:

What was fake, like His term.

Speaker 2:

Like his term, his turn back to being a baby. Did I like it wasn't a ruse, like he wasn't faking it Okay. You know how I knew it wasn't. He was on a damn promotional commercial for the Nestle drumstick ice creams During the damn pay-per-view. Oh yeah, it's actually.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, he's a baby.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, during the pay-per-view.

Speaker 1:

Drumstick ad baby. All the ads.

Speaker 4:

I've been seeing that everywhere.

Speaker 1:

The drumstick ad.

Speaker 4:

Before he was even a baby, he was still a heel.

Speaker 2:

I didn't see it anymore. I did see that he was being promoted on McDonald's as a McDonald's meal.

Speaker 4:

Wait, really.

Speaker 2:

He's got a McDonald's meal now.

Speaker 1:

I think it's kind of cool, I'm going to go buy it, Like I'm not hating.

Speaker 2:

They. Finally they picked someone that we can be like oh cool, we'll buy it now. Yeah, it's not. It's not a rapper that we don't know or an influencer that we don't know.

Speaker 1:

I'm so glad we didn't hear Fane today.

Speaker 2:

You're going to wish it into existence again.

Speaker 1:

No, that's never going to happen.

Speaker 2:

I don't know man, you ain't watched Unreal.

Speaker 1:

So four months left on Cena's.

Speaker 4:

Retirement tour.

Speaker 1:

Tour right.

Speaker 2:

He's going to be the.

Speaker 1:

Beast Killer. So how many appearances? Less than 12, right. Let me check so he won't be on many Raw and Smackdowns. No, I don't think he'll be on a lot of Raw and Smackdowns. What's the pay per view? Clash in Paris Clash in Paris is the next pay. Per view, I don't think he'll be there. Does it have his appearances wrote? No he'll probably be there.

Speaker 2:

I've seen it has 12 appearances left.

Speaker 1:

Got that spot on, yeah, so that spot on.

Speaker 2:

Dang You're right, cha-ching Woo, yeah, so let's see.

Speaker 1:

What date are we at the 3rd? You don't even know, no, okay.

Speaker 2:

Upcoming appearances August 8th SmackDown 22nd. Smackdown 29th, smackdown 31,. Clash in Paris.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so he is going to be in Paris.

Speaker 2:

Fifth September, 5th SmackDown, september 15th, Raw October 11th, crown Jewel in Perth Australia.

Speaker 1:

So I wonder what AJ is going to wear in.

Speaker 2:

November 29th, clash.

Speaker 1:

War Games.

Speaker 2:

Survivor Series. And then it says December, but it doesn't say the date. I'm going to change my opinion.

Speaker 1:

I don't think the feud, I don't think the Brock feud will be the last feud. I think the Brock feud will be the Clash in Paris feud.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

And then this is probably what's going to happen it's going to be a retirement match of AJ and Cena.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that'd be cool. That would be cool, both of them retiring at the same time.

Speaker 1:

Both of them leaving? I don't think that's going to happen. I think he means like retirement, like one of them retire, oh Right, or do you mean both, both?

Speaker 2:

Or maybe like one leaving, one retiring no, because I don't think AJ's retiring Well.

Speaker 4:

I just meant one leaving.

Speaker 2:

I think AJ'd be cool if they start bringing back some of that era. What?

Speaker 1:

do you mean? Like Brock is going to be his next feud yeah, I was just trying to think who else was. Who else was there that he's not feuded with?

Speaker 2:

he's not finished with R-Truth.

Speaker 1:

I heard Cena's last match is going to be Gunther that'd be trash put it back on Gunther he can't put it back on Gunther. He can't put it back on Gunther. I mean, put it on Gunther.

Speaker 2:

He ain't got it.

Speaker 1:

He don't have it. Cody won the belt. Cody just won the belt. I know, but I mean you could, I know, but oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, but Gunther's not going to have a match. What I'm saying is Gunther's, that's not for the title. I think it'd be trash anyway.

Speaker 3:

I don't think it'll be trash, but I don't think he's going to have a match.

Speaker 1:

That's not for the title.

Speaker 2:

I just think that they're going to bring back classics and I use that term loosely, I just mean.

Speaker 1:

Ric Flair's thing.

Speaker 2:

No, I mean like wrestlers that are still good in shape, that we want back, that were from his era.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, shape that we want back that were from his era, because we want to see him and Brock. But also they never finished the Raw.

Speaker 2:

They didn't finish the Raw, I think they did, they released him.

Speaker 4:

Wait, where has Ron been when?

Speaker 1:

did he release? I mean, he's back now. That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2:

He cut his hair and he's been attacking him, but then it just disappeared. They never finished. They didn't have a match.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I don't know. I don't think we want to see another. Yeah, they had a match.

Speaker 2:

They had our truth match. They didn't have a Ron match. No, they had a wrong match. Whatever, either way, okay, he's right, he's right. Another one would be awesome, but it would never happen because he's too old. It would be like Kurt Angle.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's sick. Angle would be his first.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that was his debut. Ruthless Aggression, ruthless Aggression.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, that's not happening. The Rock yeah, the Rock is who I could see, but the Rock would have to get back in shape and do a bunch of stuff before the Saturday Night Main Event.

Speaker 4:

And he don't want to do that.

Speaker 1:

And the Rock and John Cena at Saturday Night Main Event. So Whatever, I don't actually care. I'm here for it all.

Speaker 2:

It's fine he don't have the belt anymore, which is, but how are they going to explain Cody Still calling the Never Seen 17. How are they going to explain Cody having the belt but taking off how many months for Street Fighter?

Speaker 1:

I don't know. That's why it was weird that he's got the belt and Reigns.

Speaker 2:

Roman Reigns is taking off too.

Speaker 1:

When are they taking off, though?

Speaker 2:

Next month, well, maybe he loses.

Speaker 1:

Maybe he loses before next month. Maybe he loses in Paris, maybe he loses tomorrow.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to double check, but I thought they started filming in September.

Speaker 1:

Wouldn't be the first time, bro. Yeah. Yeah, I mean the Street Fighter thing I feel like just taken away, I don't know. It's whatever. There's enough people to carry the company. I guess you're just going to put it on Dom's back and Seth the cash-in was great, seth cashing in again. Same way, same thing, but the fake leg, the fake injury, yep, I loved it.

Speaker 4:

I loved it all.

Speaker 1:

I think night one was more predictable than night two.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, because.

Speaker 1:

Clay, how many picks did you get right on your WrestleMania pick? On one you got four right. No, on one I got two right and on the other, I got two right On night two. You got two right On both nights. I got two right Okay.

Speaker 2:

That movie might really suck.

Speaker 3:

Why.

Speaker 2:

Because I was just reading and they said that it's Undetermined with Roman which Roman is like a newer character From Street Fighter and Cody is literally guile, and they were like that. Let me just quote it.

Speaker 1:

It's great podcasting.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I know, please read it.

Speaker 1:

Please read it.

Speaker 3:

Please read it. I don't want to now. We need to hear it.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, Are you serious?

Speaker 2:

Are you going to?

Speaker 1:

read it.

Speaker 2:

With Cody's time on set expected to be short and rain schedule still under wraps, the real intrigue will be how, if WWE weaves the Blockbuster project into storytelling, but also it states that it's not going to affect any of the storytelling or match cards because they're not going to be on set that long, which means that it's going to be like a very fast production CGI yeah, yeah, okay, good, good, good.

Speaker 1:

Most CGI, I mean it was never going to be good.

Speaker 2:

No, but we're still going to watch it because it's got Reigns and Cody in it.

Speaker 1:

What's God? He's so salty Wayne messaged the group chat and said he's probably not going to record anymore. He did not.

Speaker 4:

He did. No, he didn't.

Speaker 1:

He did.

Speaker 4:

No he didn't?

Speaker 1:

Who told you who what? Don't worry about it. Oh, Wes is going off on him.

Speaker 2:

No, I'm not.

Speaker 1:

Share screenshots.

Speaker 2:

I just said why this time, instead of saying who I guess I said who too many times and he got mad. So you think?

Speaker 1:

AJ's going to have different. You think AJ's going to have different gear all the big shows, like all the rest of his shows.

Speaker 3:

He'll have, like he'll have, really cool gear. I think he will. If he's leaving next year, then yes.

Speaker 2:

I think he'll do stuff that he wants to do. I like how he played the mind games with him, Also the Guerrero spot where they both had the chair.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that was cool the fake, the fall down, although it didn't make any sense for AJ to do that because he would lose the title or because he would not win the title.

Speaker 2:

That way, it's still funny.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's still funny. I was so mad about the Steel Cage match.

Speaker 4:

Same.

Speaker 1:

Man, I just don't get it. I don't get. I guess they're trying to push Tala.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So I don't really get that.

Speaker 2:

Let me tell you I was more impressed with Roman Reigns' suicide dive over the top rope yeah, it was awesome, he jumped Than Jacob Fatu's moonsault off the top of the cave.

Speaker 1:

Okay yeah, Roman jumped over dudes.

Speaker 2:

He did he overshot it. They had to save him.

Speaker 1:

And he hadn't done it in a while. It's pretty awesome.

Speaker 2:

When's the last time he done that when he was the big dog?

Speaker 4:

Probably yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's probably true. His role is kind of weird to me too, Like what he's doing.

Speaker 2:

I'm telling you they got to make him goofy a little bit.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 2:

I agree with you Doing the reverse restart with Jay's music Midmatch too.

Speaker 1:

And Jay wore shorts.

Speaker 3:

He's a beauty in a new attire.

Speaker 2:

Maybe he wants to show off his tats. Yeah, I'm not hating. Not many people realize, because a lot of the new generation that started getting into Jay have only ever saw him in pants. They don't remember him beginning in shorts.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, we have the figs. Yeah, we have the figs.

Speaker 2:

Both his legs are covered in those same tats as his arms and chest and back. He's got sleeves all the way down his legs.

Speaker 1:

Okay, worker, shoot. Same tats as his arms and chest and back. He's got sleeves all the way down his legs. Um okay, worker, shoot.

Speaker 2:

Brawn breakers injury, work, work, I just don't know anymore. They brought back kv kayfabe baby.

Speaker 1:

I love it uh, I say work, I mean it's probably a little bit shoot. Yeah, I think he was selling it pretty hard, but, like you said, he's a football player. Yeah, he's had an injury. He came back.

Speaker 2:

He came back the next day to do like a meet and greet and he was just kind of like popping on it a little bit.

Speaker 4:

So I was like there's no rap, nothing.

Speaker 2:

He's good.

Speaker 4:

No, he'll be fine. Yeah, he's fine, but then again.

Speaker 2:

He ain't got no Becky film behind him on crutches to try to secretly.

Speaker 1:

Worker shoot. Cm Punk and Seth Rollins Hate each other. That's a shoot.

Speaker 4:

That's a shoot. I'm just saying that's a shoot. It has to be.

Speaker 1:

I don't know it's all about the money.

Speaker 2:

Baby, I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to make money.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they selling us, they selling us all hard on it. Colt's attentive on the TV. Something's going on.

Speaker 2:

You know who claims to be not good friends. Who you miss Colt going oh, it's like Cody was in there, you know who claims to be not good friends in the ring but always has to be put together because they knew it made money.

Speaker 3:

Who.

Speaker 2:

The Rock and Stone Cold.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, yeah, because it sells tickets.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they knew it sold tickets. They said we didn't care if we liked each other or not.

Speaker 1:

Punk looked gassed at the end of that match. Dude, I love Punk yeah.

Speaker 2:

I love Punk Like, but I'm going to say what Heavy D said for him to be no drugs, no alcohol does he just not have no sleep either, because he's got the biggest bags under his eyes I've ever seen yeah, man, you can not use drugs, but use a CPAP, it'd be alright you?

Speaker 1:

know what I mean Cause you got something going on With them, bags under your eyes.

Speaker 2:

He can't sleep. Sleep on the plane or something he can't sleep.

Speaker 1:

It's gotta be. He doesn't sleep, cause he don't smoke or drink or do anything to bring him down. Are we gonna get A triple threat With? Did we already get that With Drew Seth and Punk? Drew, no, drew Seth and Punk.

Speaker 4:

We have not, we haven't got that yet have we?

Speaker 1:

No, I don't think so, Nope.

Speaker 3:

I think we're going to get it.

Speaker 1:

Why would Drew be involved?

Speaker 2:

Because that rivalry? No, you said he was done with the rivalry in the post-show.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think that's over he just ribbed them about it.

Speaker 2:

I think it's more likely that you get it. It was 10 seconds shorter than his ring.

Speaker 1:

Punk.

Speaker 2:

Seth Gunther, poor Gunther.

Speaker 1:

Poor Gunther blading under that table and cutting his whole face open.

Speaker 2:

Let me tell you something If you're trying to play that. You got a broke nose you don't blade your forehead.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you blade his forehead open. Definitely was gone for like five minutes.

Speaker 2:

then come back with a with blood blade I mean, blood was gushing, it was all from his forehead, but he was holding his nose. I was like brother we can all see it like literally pumping out your forehead. Why are you holding your nose?

Speaker 1:

I think you're, I think you're good.

Speaker 2:

He went deep, I was thinking and I was just Brainstorming. I was like, if they're gonna sell a you know, a broken nose, why didn't he just like Take two blood caps and just put them in his nostrils and bust them real?

Speaker 1:

fast. Yeah, you'd think so.

Speaker 2:

And then kind of just Smear it, cause it would work Just as well Without you having To like Give yourself scars.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you'd definitely, you definitely think that's what he'd do Be a lot easier.

Speaker 2:

Incorrectamundo. I mean, that's what Seth did when you know he got to Noppy 27 times.

Speaker 1:

Also, I was thinking about Jesse Ventura during the cage match and how pissed he'd be that Solo won. Going out, the door Fell, out of it, fell out of it. Yeah, jesse Ventura would be so mad that he did that. He's like you can't win going out the door. Who wins?

Speaker 2:

that way he's got like four figs coming.

Speaker 4:

Who.

Speaker 3:

Jesse Ventura, yeah, really.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he was awesome, awesome. He was a very cool person if they made figs as much as they do now because he wore the craziest outfits.

Speaker 1:

You know, I really thought Bianca would be involved.

Speaker 2:

I thought Bianca would get in your figure I think her hand is still messed up Did you ever see the picture of her finger?

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

They said, she broke it.

Speaker 3:

She actually broke it.

Speaker 2:

But she showed a picture of it and it literally has a like, not that big around oh like it. It looks literally like someone put an acorn acorn, acorn, what, what, oh wow, whoa hey oh, I'll find the picture and show it. It's crazy looking.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, I believe you. I'm trying to think of all the signals they tried to send us to make us think Cody was turning heel.

Speaker 2:

The mask Because he took a picture of it in black and white on his the cracked mask and it was insane Made us feel that way. Monroe pointed out, it was very Kylo Ren looking and I liked that it was Piledriver.

Speaker 1:

Sit down, piledriver.

Speaker 4:

It was insane Pop up Powerbomb, pop up Powerbomb.

Speaker 1:

Pop up Sit down Powerbomb, which was cool. Kevin Owens book yeah, but Kevin Owens doesn't sit down, does he?

Speaker 4:

Pop up he just oh beautiful. Oh beautiful, I think he was just trying to do one, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I don't care either way, but they sent us multiple signs and that was the ultimate worker shoot was Cody Rhodes' turn in heel and luckily we don't have to worry about it.

Speaker 2:

And one of the big ones last night when I was texting you at like 12 o'clock, was randomly they put all his baby stuff that was made for summer slam on sale 50 off.

Speaker 1:

Still, by the way, he could still, he could still turn tomorrow so he could.

Speaker 2:

I was just saying like that brand new, that brand new, uh, that brand new jacket that they just come out. That was like this is is a special vid jacket. It doesn't ship till after September and it was marked down from $100 down to like $59. And I was like whoa, and then his brand new shirt was marked down to $20.

Speaker 4:

I was like whoa. Yeah, so that's why we thought he was mainly turning cute.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, because that was right after night one and I was like, oh bro, they're doing this because all the new stuff's going to drop on night two, after he turns heel.

Speaker 1:

Yeah it happened. I think he could turn heel whenever he loses the title. I think he could turn heel whenever he wants to, nobody can say anything about it, hey how about that entrance with the polka dots?

Speaker 2:

Yeah?

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, Dusty Rhodes. That's what everybody online was saying. Everybody got chills and they heard Dusty's voice. It was awesome. I didn't know what was going on at first.

Speaker 2:

He was on Hot Ones the other day. Did you see that? Not Dusty?

Speaker 1:

Cody Cody. Yeah, I've not watched it yet. He does an impression of his daddy. Yeah, that's right, I heard it was good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he talked about. His dad was always cutting promos, no matter what he said up in the morning, his dad's cut promos on the dog, he said, and then he said that he would. He said it got to the point where it was annoying because we tried to go to the grocery store and he'd be like man, look at that list over there staring at us.

Speaker 1:

I love that. I gotta watch that too. I gotta watch Unreal you gotta watch Unreal yeah.

Speaker 2:

I haven't finished it yet he watched one episode of it.

Speaker 1:

Get to do the reverse kayfabe, where kayfabe is so out in the open that it's back in the closet, which is whatever, but I'm happy about it. Work or shoot Wrestling.

Speaker 2:

Cardi B. Bro, where'd she go Getting rode out after she came to introduce everybody?

Speaker 1:

to SummerSlam. Who were the celebrities? Who were better?

Speaker 2:

Who were the celebrities? Who were better?

Speaker 1:

There were celebrities who were better that were there. Jelly Roll was better.

Speaker 2:

Drewski was better. I think they hard swerved and put Drewski because she was supposed to do all that entrance promo stuff yeah, and she just came out lip-s syncing her song as she walked down the the ramp and then she got into the ring and she was like one more time nope do it again, do it one more time, nope what

Speaker 3:

what what?

Speaker 2:

but she was reading. She was reading that teleprompter hard. Yeah, looking right at it like leaning over the ropes looking at it.

Speaker 1:

Squinting her eyes. It's totally fine.

Speaker 2:

The only thing that she said that wasn't on the teleprompter, when she said I love me some. Randy Orton hi.

Speaker 1:

Hey, listen, it's 1038 on the East Coast. Charles Robinson got that ring tore down, yet.

Speaker 2:

With that boot on? Yeah, with that boot on, but he's been taking so many bumps and finally started showing them.

Speaker 1:

That's funny. He's in a boot. What is boot? Was it from the spot he took? I bet it was.

Speaker 4:

What spot Spear?

Speaker 2:

The spear or something he probably landed wrong. There was like two or three in a row there where he was. He's been hanging out for a while. Yeah, he's been there since I was watching him ref WCW.

Speaker 1:

He ref some of the SummerSlam Bash, the Beach stuff.

Speaker 2:

Oh shit, he's 61?.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, dude, he's been around forever Taking Spears at 61.

Speaker 4:

From.

Speaker 1:

Goldberg Running full blast down that.

Speaker 4:

Taking Spears from Goldberg at 61.

Speaker 1:

Most referees are crazy good shape because they're either wrestlers or aspire to be wrestlers, or masked wrestlers Like. Jessica Kars. Yeah, masked wrestlers.

Speaker 2:

One of the two I still will never forgive Ric Flair.

Speaker 1:

What's going on the post show. Well we can watch the post show later. Last time that we watched the post show in here, we got almost no podcasting yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'll never forgive Ric Flair. You know those episodes on A&E where they're looking for stuff for the archives. Yeah, they had one where they were tracking down a certain robe that. Ric wore they finally figured out who had it it was Charles Robinson.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

And they came in and was like like Rick just flat out was like I want you to give that back to me and like had him like literally in tears and be like man, this has been my house since. Like you gave this to me 25 years ago and he's like you just want me to like this is part of my collection. This is history. You just want me to give it to you because you said I want it back.

Speaker 4:

Did he?

Speaker 2:

He traded him and gave him something else for it. It was just like. Even when Ric Flair is trying to be nice on a show, he still comes off like a freaking douchebag.

Speaker 1:

That's true. He has the hardest time being a decent person. I feel like they didn't mention Hogan all weekend after Smackdown. They mentioned him once. Yeah, like his kids were there.

Speaker 3:

Mentioned, one of his kids was there with his adult actress wife.

Speaker 1:

Adult actress wife. Adult actress wife. That's all you can say.

Speaker 2:

That's all I'm going to say with these children, I know I know that's all I can say.

Speaker 1:

The what button's getting heat tonight. Yeah, that's good. So a couple things. Punk's promos are now better than his wrestling. They might have always been, but now he should almost exclusively cut promos. I love his wrestling and I love him in the ring, but I don't think they booked Well. They booked him five minutes too much, too long. That match was five minutes too long, right, and it could have been a lot. No, I agree.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I agree, it could have been a lot better, I agree yeah, I agree it could be a lot better if it's five minutes shorter there was like two spots where by the time he done the elbow drop I was like he can barely get to the top rope by the time he did that one drop. But the gear was, uh, fantastic for gear. Did you know that?

Speaker 4:

yes, yeah, gear was fantastic. It's clobbering time, clobbering time, gear.

Speaker 1:

Very, very cool Colt.

Speaker 2:

It was very cool that he done that, but does that mean we're going to get him and Seth feud, or is that going to be?

Speaker 1:

I'm sure that he'll feud with Seth some about it. I'm good with watching him and Seth feud, just because those matches are good.

Speaker 2:

Well, yeah, everyone wants to see Phil and Kobe fight. Paul Heyman doing masterwork, though, selling, yeah, selling everything, but you know, what he did to think through about what Was wrapping his arms around.

Speaker 1:

I actually think. I think he was being facetious. I'm pretty sure he did that because of the CEO at the Kiss Cam.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

It literally looked just like it. It was just funny, because everyone's doing the Jack from Titanic.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but I think they're missing the point. I think he was being funny. I think it's literally the Kiss Cam. Paul is the one person that I cam. Yeah, true, nothing. No, paul is the one person that I'm like.

Speaker 2:

Nothing he does is unintentional how long it took him to get him up from, uh, the crisscross applesauce position.

Speaker 1:

I was thinking. When he got down there he looked like humpty, dumpty a little bit, yeah, and his legs are just like tucked under him, like maybe he was an animal that was supposed to sit like that.

Speaker 2:

He made me, made me think of the caterpillar from Ice and Wonderland, that's smoking.

Speaker 1:

Yes, that's what he was like. He was just hanging out. Yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 2:

Alright, everybody agreed. The main events were great, as in the endings of the main event.

Speaker 4:

How do we feel about the Brock return, though?

Speaker 2:

I feel good about it.

Speaker 1:

I love the Brock return. I think I might have liked it better if he didn't F5 Cena, if he just stared Cena down, if he just done the punk thing where he just stared Cena down and then went backstage he didn't even walk down the ramp, I'm fine with it either way. It was cool either way Seeing him doing the F5, especially after.

Speaker 4:

I predicted 1,500 F5s. Every time someone got them up on their shoulders, you said F5.

Speaker 2:

I was just telling you what was going to happen. Bobby AA, it's not a prediction, it's a spoiler. The AA through the table.

Speaker 1:

It's not a prediction, it's a spoiler spoiler.

Speaker 2:

That was a nice one.

Speaker 1:

The AA through the table was cool. I think those dudes, the suplex, those dudes beat each other up bad. That suplex through the guardrail was awesome. I'm sorry for our.

Speaker 2:

Spanish announcers, because they don't get to keep a table.

Speaker 1:

That's an infamous thing. They never get to keep a table.

Speaker 2:

It's always gone within the first two matches.

Speaker 1:

I was confused what he was doing when he cleared that off and went back through. Have you seen somebody goes under them to change them because they're not normally breakable Can?

Speaker 2:

I say that I really Okay, never mind, I'll just go home and say it. I'm just going to take my belt right here around my microphone, this little slap bracelet, going home with this.

Speaker 1:

You're as present as Wayne right now. Will you please talk?

Speaker 2:

I'm actually more present than Wayne. I know, I really, truly thought Dom was going to lose.

Speaker 1:

I did too. I actually thought Dom was going to lose. You never thought it.

Speaker 2:

It wasn't for the fact that they're going to push him eventually for a big title. They're wanting to do a major storyline with him in AAA, so I thought they were going to let him drop the title to go to AAA to get over there.

Speaker 1:

That's one of the other things. I thought that was going to happen that didn't was some Judgment Day shenanigans and there was no Judgment Day matches and no Judgment Day. Shenanigans. Yeah, no Judgment Day at all. I know, like Finn Balor not at SummerSlam was weird. Like Finn Balor, I thought for sure, for sure, finn Balor was going to be involved in Dom's match.

Speaker 2:

But yeah and where the hell is, carlito.

Speaker 1:

Bro oh.

Speaker 4:

That's right.

Speaker 1:

I don't have that button. Thank you, though. That's good.

Speaker 2:

Actually we get to go see Carlito on August 24th.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, can't wait.

Speaker 1:

I got to order the other figure, not guilty.

Speaker 4:

What is it?

Speaker 1:

Brock Lesnar was blacklisted by TKO, bringing him back into the WWE main. He's 100% cleared and found not guilty. What is it? Brock Lesnar was blacklisted by TKO, bringing him back into the WWE main. He's 100% cleared and found not guilty. Tko wouldn't risk something like this with how much they care about sponsors and advertisers.

Speaker 3:

I agree.

Speaker 2:

I think that's totally true. Also, it just means that Nikki Bella and their dad, because she's back in wrestling, or their stepdad did what he said he was going to do. He flipped on McMahon and told everything and then cleared Brock.

Speaker 1:

It also like sometimes gets outweighed and doesn't matter, like Hogan, like didn't matter, how shitty he was. No, because it was because he still how shitty he was. No, because it was True, because he still sold tickets.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Like, brock can do whatever and he's still going to sell tickets all the way down. Yeah, and then, and it really don't even matter.

Speaker 2:

Also speaking of Nikki Bella, did anyone hear about her injury?

Speaker 4:

No Her implants yeah.

Speaker 1:

Oh, once something popped.

Speaker 2:

Once down her. Yeah, oh, once something popped Once down her ribs, like she's like.

Speaker 1:

Is that uncomfortable, you think?

Speaker 2:

Piper Nevin would do it. Piper Nevin did an elbow drop and botched it and her actual elbow. Like she took all her weight onto Nikki. Like Nikki took all of it.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And it like dislocated one of them. And she was like well, there's definitely a difference, you, all of it. It dislocated one of them. She was like there's definitely a difference, you can see it. She said once I'm finished with wrestling, then I'm going to have to get them back. Worked on.

Speaker 4:

What a weird problem.

Speaker 2:

It's just funny because I said for months I was like she's going to end up hurting someone. Most wrestlers and most wrestlers, female wrestlers, do have some sort of implant.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I still think she's better than Abel Sky.

Speaker 2:

Except.

Speaker 1:

Bianca? I don't think Bianca does. Hey Is Nia dead?

Speaker 2:

I think so.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

She's in NXT.

Speaker 4:

Oh, okay, that's fine.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, she's doing, she's putting people over in NXT.

Speaker 1:

Let her be there. That's okay. That sounds good. I'm good with that. We didn't get that. There's a couple things I mean the Judgment Day. Being absent was very apparent.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

The biggest thing missing from the show and Lucas will agree with me and really honestly, there was a person in the mat. As much as I love this person, it could have been somebody else and would have been better, but Penta should have been somewhere in SummerSlam and it probably should have been, as much as people don't want it to happen. Maybe there's a reason the Lucha Brothers have always been together Because they pop so hard, they're so over together and if that wasn't Andrade and it was Penta, they would have won. They might have won.

Speaker 2:

Not Dragon Lee.

Speaker 4:

The Grande Americano.

Speaker 2:

His brother Phoenix His mask. It was so beautiful. Lee, his brother Phoenix Ray Phoenix His mask. Yeah, dude, it was so beautiful.

Speaker 4:

It was awesome.

Speaker 1:

Also, I love Andrade, but he was kind of absent in that match.

Speaker 2:

He was. He had like one spot. I think they were a filler.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think they were a filler too. I definitely think they were a filler.

Speaker 4:

I was going to put Pretty Deadly in there.

Speaker 2:

Because it was supposed to be Pretty Deadly. We did get to see the Hardys. Yeah, we've seen the.

Speaker 1:

Hardys Hand up Misbooked that Yep Hand up Thought for sure they were going to get involved. We had this whole fantasy booking situation to where somehow the Dudleys got involved and the Hardys got pissed about that and the Hardys got involved, somebody got put through a table and that started a feud in TNA because Bubba Ray somehow just won a title.

Speaker 2:

No, no, no, it's Bully.

Speaker 1:

Bully. Sorry, just won a title.

Speaker 4:

Why is it Bully?

Speaker 1:

It's Bully because he can't use Bubba, because WWE owns Bubba. But I think he's cool with WWE again, so they could use Bubba, but I don't really understand.

Speaker 2:

He took a title from Zillow Fatu the. Hog title.

Speaker 1:

What are they calling Bubba on TNA?

Speaker 2:

No they're calling Bubba on LFG, lfg. So in WWE they call him Bubba, yeah, but on TNA they call him Bubba?

Speaker 1:

What do they call him today?

Speaker 2:

Bubba Right.

Speaker 1:

No, no, no.

Speaker 4:

Did they call him Bubba yeah.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I thought they just said the Dudley.

Speaker 1:

Boys no, because they own the Dudley. Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

So another thing Hot, take the Hardy Boys. Look 100 times more better in shape than the Dudleys. I love more.

Speaker 1:

Nobody's more better than the Hardy Boys. You know what, though? So go ahead, Ricochet's not dead.

Speaker 2:

No, he's in the HOG or whatever. Well, that's.

Speaker 1:

Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, and that's the other one that was really missing is I really really thought Zilla was going to be there? Yeah, really thought Zilla was going to get involved because he dropped his title yesterday. Right and Tomatanga, and Tomatanga. We really thought these dudes were here, because he's healthy title yesterday and Tomatonga.

Speaker 4:

And Tomatonga. We really thought these dudes were here because he's healthy and chilling. I was going on TikTok and I figured out why he was there.

Speaker 2:

Why who was there? Who?

Speaker 4:

Zilla.

Speaker 2:

Why was he there?

Speaker 4:

He went to Subway.

Speaker 2:

Mania. He went to Subway Mania.

Speaker 1:

Yeah Well, bro, it's a wrestling event, Like all those dudes are there.

Speaker 4:

Where they fight in the subway for some reason.

Speaker 1:

That's kind of cool. I'd watch that yes. I'd watch that. They literally fight in the train. That sounds awesome. I'd watch that.

Speaker 4:

I've seen somebody go through a bullet train.

Speaker 2:

Well, Zilla's going to be on Van Vliet yeah, he announced that so that might be kind of Brock. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And El Grande Americano.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, El.

Speaker 1:

Grande Americano.

Speaker 2:

Ludwig El Grande Americano is going to be on Van Vliet.

Speaker 1:

How do you know who it is?

Speaker 2:

Because the torso.

Speaker 4:

I mean he took a picture beside him.

Speaker 1:

It's the same guy that's always been around.

Speaker 4:

We have three different.

Speaker 1:

Grandes, oh, okay.

Speaker 2:

It's Ludwig. Champ is here. It's Ludwig. He took a picture.

Speaker 1:

Van.

Speaker 2:

Vliet took a picture beside.

Speaker 1:

Who is?

Speaker 2:

Ludwig.

Speaker 1:

Grande Americana.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

How do you know? How do you know?

Speaker 2:

I'm not doing this. He's swinging the belt.

Speaker 1:

He's swinging the belt like Seth. He knows what's up, he knows. Okay, so overall, final thoughts on SummerSlam Clay. I thought I was going to be a little disappointed, yeah, but I mean I am a little bit. I just wanted to see Rock Out of respect for Wayne Rip. Why no One out of four? How many turnbuckles you give the whole show Nights? One and two SummerSlam all together? One out of four. One out of four. It's not like a math quiz I know but I don't know somebody else got off.

Speaker 2:

No, you have to do it you gotta go first, because you'll change your answer. If we go, you have to do it one out of four. Do you think it was bad?

Speaker 1:

I think it was mid okay so like a two, there you go. That's. That's the thing to do. Give the mic to Monroe. Monroe, what do you think? It's barely a one, bro. Really you think so, most of these matches could have been Smackdown or Raw match. It wasn't PLE worthy. I don't disagree with him. Most of them could have been. I definitely don't disagree with that. Most of them could have been Monday Night Raw or Smackdown. Mine is barely a two. Yeah, lucas.

Speaker 4:

Two, because there was only like one good match and it was the last match, yeah, of both nights, of both nights?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I agree, Imagine those. It was one night and those were both on the same show Would have been awesome. Would have been awesome. Oh, no wait, no wait, wait, oh, no wait, wait, hold on. What are we doing here? Sorry, I was going to get Colt to do it, but he was just yeeted, I think.

Speaker 2:

And that's all that happened. He would say John Cena is nice again.

Speaker 1:

What do you think, wes? You're the last vote, the resounding. I know everyone's saying twos, I'll go get Colounding.

Speaker 2:

I know everyone's saying twos.

Speaker 4:

I'll go get Colton.

Speaker 2:

I know everyone's saying twos, but I have it a little broken down.

Speaker 3:

More.

Speaker 2:

If it was just main events. Main events for a four.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, but that's not what we're asking. The whole show 1.5. Why you gotta be so complicated? We don't even have halves. But that's not what we're asking. We're talking about something. The whole show 1.5.

Speaker 4:

Production, why you got to be so complicated. We don't even have halves.

Speaker 1:

What if we don't have halves? What if we got bags of sand?

Speaker 2:

I'm going to give it a one just because of the main events. Everything else is a zero. The rest of the matches were a zero. Okay, the production was zero. The camera members were zero. I'm telling you, there's people that's going to be on the chopping block.

Speaker 1:

I only gave it a two because of the two main events and the Brock return. How did you like the show?

Speaker 2:

Grade of one through four, one being bad, four being good.

Speaker 1:

Did you love it? You loved it. What was your favorite part?

Speaker 2:

You got to speak into the mic, bub.

Speaker 4:

Tony Buston, john Cena.

Speaker 2:

Cody Buston, john Cena. Yeah, okay. I think three but hear me out. Okay, I'm not going to fight you, no, listen.

Speaker 1:

Before the main event. Before the main event it was a out. Okay, I'm not going to fight you. Before the main event. Before the main event.

Speaker 3:

it was a one, yep.

Speaker 1:

The whole show was a one before the main event. Yep, for real. But all they needed to do was come through one of the big things I needed to happen Brock Lesnar, all they needed to do, and the Brock Lesnar thing justifying so many things for me, that, uh, that it doesn't feel like we heavy marked out, we were just that brock was just coming.

Speaker 2:

We followed the fix.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, brock was just coming back.

Speaker 2:

That was the way it was I will say this, though, is one thing I felt that I haven't felt in a long time was we can mark out all we want, but man, it really we had like like no idea, you know.

Speaker 1:

No, I know, Really we didn't know, but I mean, it just like.

Speaker 2:

it almost felt like we were a kid trying to read wrestling pro wrestling yeah that's real.

Speaker 1:

You know what I'm saying? That's real, you're right.

Speaker 2:

Like kind of getting the entire because which is good, we want to be there.

Speaker 1:

That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2:

I want to be there I know it was mid. We could have done without everything but the main event, but they did keep us guessing, but yeah they just kept guessing, and Monday Night Raw after SummerSlam is traditionally pretty insane.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Right, so something usually happens after it too. That's what I'm hoping for. Yeah, I think we could get Zilla tomorrow.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That Zilla tomorrow? Yeah, that could. Or Tomatongo, because that match was so lackluster that we could get somebody tomorrow. It has to be man. We're just in here fancy booking. Is he booking? We can possibly do? Let's go.

Speaker 2:

Is anyone else going to talk about? No one actually even mentioned this. Jacob Batu, the Samoan werewolf, came out with a.

Speaker 1:

I have a werewolf mask. That was awesome. Can't wait for that figure to come out. It's going to be great.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, there's going to be so many good figs coming out so many good figs. I counted.

Speaker 1:

You said it five times.

Speaker 2:

I only said it five times, though I said it three times Every match could have given me one.

Speaker 1:

Technically it was like seven.

Speaker 2:

The Axiom figs are going to be awesome yeah, the fraxium figs will be great. I hope they come in a two pack pretty good gear.

Speaker 1:

Pay per view.

Speaker 2:

Solid gear solid gear um ow, that had to hurt. That was uh Lucas dislocating his elbow. Yep, anyways, we're gonna final thoughts.

Speaker 4:

That was Lucas dislocating his elbow.

Speaker 1:

Yep, oh, it hurt Anyways we're going to Final thoughts, work or shoot Wayno leaving the podcast.

Speaker 2:

Work.

Speaker 1:

Work. Shoot, shoot, shoot, ba-doop.

Speaker 2:

I don't have an opinion on it, because I couldn't care any less. Boys, he'll be back. Wayne, come back.

Speaker 1:

I think he's turning heel.

Speaker 2:

Prove him wrong. Come back and be heel. I think Wayne's turning heel.

Speaker 1:

I could see that I would like Wayne to be heel. Yeah, wayne's a heel. That would be different, since Wes is normally the heel. Yeah, I just don't think he is. Wes is turning heel. He is kind of yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, this is awesome, this is awesome.
